"My husband and I have been living here for 13 months now and we are seriously considering terminating our lease. Unfortunately there are several problems I can point out that management can't seem to fix or it's not at the top of their priority list (as they rate how high of a priority your problem is). 1. Parking is a big issue - they use parking passes here at Pine Brook Place, the problem's that a lot of people do NOT respect it and will park wherever they feel like, leaving you having to walk across a whole parking lot to reach your building. 2. Security/Safety is not available - my husbands 2021 Fully Equipped Honda Accord was broken into in the middle of the night and management did absolutely nothing about it (we lost our iPad & AirPods) not sure why we must pay both security deposit + renters insurance to protect their property but when it's our personal belongings, the response was "I'm sorry there's nothing we can do". 3. Pine trees in the summer - be careful where you park as the whole property is surrounded by Pine Trees and if you park under them during the warmer months your car will be filled with "Pine Sap" we had to pay for several car details because if those pine sap are not removed then you risk damaging your cars painting. On another note we have to pay attention when we walk our dog as her paws are also filled with pine sap and it's absolutely terrible to remove. 4. Dogs - When we moved in we were told there were certain dog breeds not allowed but yet we seemed to find several of those breeds around the property (Siberian Husky, Pit Bulls, Boxer, etc). They say they are probably dogs that are ESA animals but never seen anyone with a colocar o leash stating that to be true. Dog poop on occasions is also an issue, I have to watch where I step on the grass as there are lazy, disrespectful people that believe they reserve the right to not pick up after their animal. 5. MICE - They are a big issue and management does NOT have a solution for it. They call pest control but all they do is "bait the unit" this does not do anything. My husband and I have spent countless money on glue traps and then also on training our dog to stay away from the glue so it can effectively work on doing something. We have caught over 50 mice in our unit alone this past year (I have pictures & dates from every image we took). It's disgusting and sad to say I have to be constantly cleaning my apartment several times a week to keep up with making sure we aren't eating or touching anything they could've possibly run through and my apartment is filled with glue in the corners and along the kitchen floor. 6. Renovated - The apartments are OLD and half decently renovated. The only thing new about the apartments are the kitchen altho not all of the appliances are new they are just well maintained. The bathroom in my unit is very old; it still has square tiles all around the tub and the wall behind the sink. The floors and walls are not sound proof at all. I work from home full time and I can guarantee you I can hear my neighbors crying and screaming across the hall. At 5:30am we can hear our neighbors upstairs just walking around so you can imagine being stuck living under people who have no control over their kids for a year (Luckily that's not our case). 7. Heat & hot water - Yes it's included but not worth saving $100 a month on. We've had several problems throughout the year where our water had been freezing cold or just not properly working (low pressure, water was brown, etc). Heat is controlled by the apartment complex so it's only turned on in mid-October. There is also no actual thermostat in the unit, it's a knob located at the base of the heating unit where you turn it from 1 to 4 depending how cold it is. Never seen this in my life and was very frustrated with it when I first learned how it worked. Please do your work, ask the right questions and make sure this is the right fit for you, I do not mind paying nearly $2K a month on rent as long as my needs are attended to and I live in a peaceful, clean community."
"If you have patience to deal with constant noise from your neighbors at all hours and don’t care about mice then this place is for you. Worst experience of my life while living there."
"The management team of this facility needs a serious reality check. If you choose to live here there are a few things you should be aware of. 1. The buildings are run down. I've lived here going on 3 years now and I will not be renewing my lease in the coming year. 2. You don't have to pay for heat or hot water but that perk is honestly not worth the hassle. Our hot water is constantly inconsistent. Some days I will try and take a shower and the water is ice cold because the boiler broke. Some days I wont have any water at all. You would think with the constant issues they would look into replacing the boiler...NOPE. They would much rather "upgrade" our hallways by adding molding to the center of the walls. Mind you the texture of the walls is so rigid you will cut yourself if you rub up against it and the carpets in the hallways are from the early 90's but lets just add cheap molding to it to make it look "pretty". 3. The property manager has very poor interpersonal skills. 4. Constant mouse and vermin problem If you literally have no where else to go and can deal with constant issues come live here but you'll regret it...trust me."
"Listed as a luxury apartment complex, although I'm still trying to figure out what's luxury besides the pool and being able to have pets. Somewhat affordable rent compared to similar places near by. Maintenance is fast, although not very efficient or helpful. I'm glad to be in the building I am, it's quiet compared to the building next door that has parties almost every weekend. The only real issue we've had is with trash and parking. Trash issues are from other tenants, putting their trash besides the dumpster instead of into it. Pure laziness! The dumpster is not typical empty when this is happen. Parking, sometimes people without permits park in the lot meant for tenants and there's no real way to fix this problem unless the office is open but even still, then you have to call and report it and even then, they'll just tow the person's car. Not a bad place to save up and find somewhere nicer. This complex could be a lot better if they put in a fitness center. Close to downtown and lots of shopping and good food. Lafayette square is right around the corner. You can even jump on the T and head into Boston if you want. Nice playground nearby, although typically dirty. Overall it's decent and so far I've had a good experience but if I were them, I wouldn't have "luxury" anywhere near the name. My stove, refrigerator and multiple closets were broken when I first moved in despite supposedly having "brand new" appliances. Being able to have pets, including no breed restrictions is the only luxury you'll find here but still not a bad place to call home for a year or two. Staff is always friendly and helpful."
