"I like to wait before rating living spaces, but I’ve been here a year now so it feels worth rating. I absolutely love it here. I came in just before some of the major renovations and the work done in the main living areas here has been great. The gym is wonderful and has plenty of equipment, the lobby is bright, and the mailroom having the security it does is nice. The staff here consistently have been amazing. I’ve never had such responsive and honestly kind people. I get the sense they know everyone and take comments seriously. Any issues I’ve had, have been addressed immediately. The apartment itself is gorgeous. I face the building on the other side, but the sun still comes in just fine. Noise is a minimum and it’s peaceful. The one small note is that the hot water in the shower is a bit finicky but it’s manageable. I recommend bringing a new shower head meant for low pressure showers, and any issues are resolved. I’ve had no problems. My one comment is just that parking continues to be a bit of a pain. There are frequently folks parked in the lot without stickers or placards, and at night it becomes an issue if you’re parking later than 10 or so. But if that’s the worst thing here, honestly I’m fine with it. I’ve lived in different areas and places, and this one is probably the best place I’ve lived in a long time. When my renewal came up, the increase was almost negligible, which lets me know I’ll be staying here for sure going forward. I completely recommend this place for anyone unsure."
"The staff are trying their best, but it's hard to justify the rent without referring to the market at large. It's not bad, but it's not $2100 for a studio good either. I'm having a child in February with the end of the lease at around there. If it costs more to move, then I won't feel terrible staying. The ground floor has its issues, but it's no slum. It's just hard to bill it as luxury in such a dirty, well travelled part of town. Hopefully they get the funds to make the property that nice, make a profit, and *not* raise rent by $300 a year. I would be surprised considering all of the new construction. It's not exactly my day job to know though."
"Halstead Haverhill rocks! This is one of the most awesome places to live in Mass. I called about a problem. Greg and Barry immediately showed up within minutes. They are resourceful and professional. I walked through with Derek and when I called Erin, she answered all my questions and went the extra mile to make us feel special. What a tremendous Team!!! I love this place and within three days I met 4 people I can call a friend. It really is all about the people. Thanks for going the extra mile. I have found everyone here to be nice and friendly."
"It is always super clean and smelling great in the hallways and lobby area. The cleaners are working every day non stop to make sure it is looking it’s best at all time and i think that’s super important. Any issues are taken care of when you have concerns just make sure you always express them to the office and it will be handled. It is such a pleasure to walk by the leasing office and see friendly faces smiling and greeting you. I look forward to walking by there whenever I am coming in from walking my dog. Between the management in the leasing office, maintenance, and the cleaners I am overall 100% satisfied so far with living here. Definitely Recommend."
"Beautiful building in a great location with plenty of friendly neighbors. I’d love nothing more than to continue calling Hamel Mill Lofts (now known as Halstead Haverhill) home for many more years to come. However, like many of the other long term residents here, my family and I are at risk of being displaced due to egregious rent increases. Despite being respectful and responsible tenants who have never missed (nor been late on) a payment, our rent has increased a whopping 46% since we moved here just three years ago, surpassing the market average for a 1 bedroom apartment in Haverhill. Amenities such the gym and several common areas have been unavailable to residents for a quarter our current leasing term (and counting) to accommodate renovations. It will be nice to have an upgraded gym, but that is far from justification for nearly doubling our rent. Update - the team has been helpful in working to find a compromise for us."
