"The new management is terrible. The buildings are old and falling apart, walls are paper thin, plumbing is horrible, floors are not level etc. At least the old management team were personable. The new people fired half if the onsite staff, consistently fail to communicate, arrange massive construction projects to start at 8am on a Saturday morning (right outside my window) with no advanced notice. Say the water will be ahut off for 3 days (so everyone makes plans to vacate and leave town) and them magically the issue gets resolved in less than 8 hours. If you are smart - you will find another place to live."

"I love living here. Kathy and the management team are phenomenal. The maintenance crew are responsive and professional. The snow removal is fantastic. The area is quiet, neighbors are friendly, and the price is right. I recommend the complex to all my newcomer colleagues."

"I lived at Northgate for three yeas and moved out today. I've lived in a few apartments complexes in the last 10 years and this has by far been the best experience. During my search for an apartment a few years ago, Northgate stood out as the most beautiful complex on the Island. It has a reputation for this, actually, as I came to know over the last few years from friends and co-workers. The office and maintenance staff is superb. Over the three years I didn't experience very many issues - but when they happened maintenance was there to handle it promptly. The staff is not afraid to confront other residents on your behalf if you have issues. I have been on both sides of this confrontation and have great respect for their direct attitude and professionalism. They want all residents to be comfortable with where they live. Finding a comfortable place is important and the complex has residents of all ages. Being respectful of others and common spaces is very important. They welcomed my dog when we first moved in and a few years later, they were very accommodating when my s/o and I wanted to move together along with our cat & dog. The move out experience was straight forward. I chose to pay the cleaning fee as I did not want to go through cleaning the nooks and carnies of an apartment I spent 3 years living in. The walk through was very reasonable and quick. I have made many fantastic memories in this apartment. It will be difficult to find such a fantastic place to live. "I loved it here and so sad that I had to leave. You have to give to Caesar what Caesar deserved. Highly recommended to especially service members. If the head of the stream is good the bottom would also be good. It is obvious the management team is solid. The staffs are on top of things, top notch if you asked me. From the outset working with Kathy whose customer service is beyond exceptional to dealing with everyone else, Ben and his team, the cleaners just everyone. They are helpful, kind, respectful and just great customer service. At one point Juan helped me to take some of my furniture up the stairs to my apartment. Thanks to everyone who ensured the building, outdoor areas, garbage etc. are always in check. Your hard work and collective efforts were very much appreciated and was never gone unnoticed. Thanks for always communicating and prompt in addressing any situation that is brought to your attention. Great neighbours with diversity in age. No mail issues such as stealing of mails which is a pet peeve for me, extremely safe area, no theft of car or car parts another pet peeve, very clean, well kept, very quite, nice and clean spacious living space. You will love it here if everything should remain the same."

"Great short term rental. Rented a two bedroom apartment for a 6 month time period while stationed at Naval Station Newport. This location was extremely convenient and was 2 minutes away from the bases back gate. The apartment building was pet friendly and allowed 2 dogs for the duration of our stay, with a small fee per pet. Many other apartment complexes we searched typically allowed only 1 pet or no pets at all. Kathy was fantastic to work with. Prior to renting, I was unable to view the apartment. However, she sent me as much information about the apartment as she could and answered every question I had prior to moving in. The only small downside to the apartment complex was the sharing of laundry. 6 rooms shared 1 washer/dryer set. More importantly, the washer and dryer cost $1.75 each to operate. Since the machines are dated, our clothes didn’t usually dry with 1 dryer cycle. However, we often used the laundromat 5 minutes up the road to take care of XL loads of laundry. I highly recommend Northgate Apartments for anyone taking short term orders to Newport!"
