Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital

"My brother was in the hospital for back surgery, so I came along in a few nights. I was allowed to go in the nourishment room, and get some of those juice cups (man, those are nostalgic) and some ice cream, too. I love the liminal atmosphere of hospitals. Something about it feels... inviting, yet also strangley unnerving. The rooms are cold, the hallways empty and clean. Life, death, everything hangs in the air, mingling with the sounds of machinery..."

"We were at the children hospital ER this past weekend because my daughter was throwing up non stop and a fever of 103 we took her directly there because they have pediatric care. It will not be my first choice ever again. All the did was stop her nausea with zofran and give her ibuprofen the doctor said it was a common cold. The didn’t do any exam on her or nothing my daughter was looking very bad. We left and my daughter was still in bad shape on Sunday. Thank God she had a Doctors appt on Monday because her pediatrician did the flu, RSV and Covid to see if she had any of those. And it turns out my daughter had covid. I understand they are busy or what ever but in worst case my daughter could have convulsed and it was a common cold come on. All this people that work there are trained and go to school to provide and save life’s like let’s be for real now. Bunch on incompetents."

"Terrible. I wish I could go somewhere else with better service. The nurse was not attentive, swabed infant's nose when she was in the middle of eating, made her to throw up everything she has had the whole day and this is while she had been eating very little food for the past few days. Then they did bunch of tests and told us they'll let me know th result in few hours, they didn't call to give the result until next day afternoon, and then charged a hefty amount"

"My 7 years old son was transfer from ER of another Inova hospital to the ICU of the Inova Children’s Hospital because of a respiratory problem, and of course we were terrified for the situation, but from the first minute that the members of the ICU came with the ambulance to transport my son, everybody was AMAZING, they treated us with so much kindness, respect, and truly care that I can’t express the gratitude to everybody at the hospital specially the people of the ICU and the regular floor as well, doctors, nurses practitioner’s, specialist’s, administrative staff, cleaning staff, food staff, everybody was a blessing! My son had so much fun at the hospital during the hard times and at the same time had an amazing team taking care of him and doing an outstanding work to have him back to our house after two days! Thank you so much for your hardwork, care and amazing service to the community and to our children, god bless y’all!!"

From the moment we walked in the door, to the time we were transported to another INOVA facility for surgery, and through out the entire process all staff were kind, attentive, and caring. I have NEVER had such an amazing experience with any hospital or medical facility!"
