"Drove 35 mins out to sell clothes for a 5 hour wait time when I called in advance and they said there was no wait time at all. I’m disabled and it’s hard to leave the house. The employees were also very unfriendly and rude. I’ll stick with the maple shade store. At least they give respect to their customers. Also by other reviews to this store, you can clearly see there is a huge lack of customer services skills in this place. Teach your employees better. You only give feedback to those who give you 5 stars though so I can see what standards you (don’t) have."
"I’m sorry to have to write this review, but there is a the lack of communication about their policies, a glitch in the computerized system that they use, and poor customer service skills. A few days before Christmas, I dropped off two bags of stuff at this store. I followed the prompts on their computer, put in my phone number and email, and selected the “just text me when it’s been ready” option, since they seemed pretty busy. I assumed this meant in a day or two. No where in this prompt did I see anything that said that store policy is that you MUST pick up the same day you drop off, or you forfeit your money. After two weeks of waiting, I finally called only to find out that their computer did not save the phone number I put in and they had instead contacted an old house phone number that I haven’t used in years. And on top of it, they donated my stuff and I would not be receiving the money they would have given me. While the woman on the phone was trying to be nice, I was basically told it’s my fault for not understanding the same day pickup policy, even though none of their employees mentioned this to me at time of drop off. Yes, the receipt says “same day pickup”. I assumed this meant the same day as the day they contact you for pickup. All of this could have been avoided if their computer had contacted the phone number I entered, instead of reverting to an unused number, if they had emailed me, or if their employees had mentioned their same day pickup policy. I will not be going to any Plato’s closets again after this. Their “customer is always wrong” approach to handling this issue was unacceptable."
"I love this place but literally everything I ever buy smells like curry. It’s not a smell you want to wear around and obviously you can just wash things but I feel like clothes just shouldnt smell like that. It’s not even a one off thing its every time I come and I doubt one person donated the hundreds of things I buy here that smell like this. So i’m not sure whats going on during processing but maybe dont eat around the clothes or something? not even sure how this could be happening. But besides that this store has honestly very reasonable prices and great product. The staff isnt super talkative or friendly but retail sucks so I get it."
"I called ahead told I had new beautiful evening dresses. They said fine. I brought 3,boxes of beautiful clothing. A new beautiful wool plaid coat. They took 3 items!!!!! Told me my things aren't styje they take. 3 items out if 3 boxes beautiful things. Some had tags."
"I stepped on one of those security pins last time I went there, the only thing that I received when I explained the situation to an employee on the counter was a: “oh! We have to be more careful” not even an apology, my foot was killing me and they didn't offer me to even disinfect my wound, then she told the situation to her coworkers and they started to make funny faces between each other, like making fun on me. Don’t go to this place."
