"Very entertaining and a really nice theatre! Staff and cast were terrific. Great show & very well performed."
"Surprisingly Amazing! A hidden Gem! We were amazed by the talent of the actors and actresses, who also served the tables. We saw “The Sound of Music” and the nuns singing the “Hallelujah” sounded heavenly."
"First visit to the Candlight Theater in Delaware. In the interest of full disclosure, I'll mention that I am generally not a fan of musicals, but that wasn't an issue here as the production was truly exceptional. After hearing the first couple musical numbers, I thought the audio might be a recorded track. Wrong. The performers' vocals were simply on point, strong and clear. Actress Audra Casebier, who played the Reverend Mother, has an amazing voice and her several numbers throughout the show truly shined. What do you do with a problem like Maria? No idea, as the actress playing the lead role during our visit on August 24th had no problem stealing the show. Her musical numbers were beautifully delivered along with lending such a bubbly and occasionally irreverent tone to the character that you couldn't help but smile whenever she was on stage. Actress Rebecca Schall turned in a notable performance as Elsa. Her nuanced crafting of the unlikable Ms. Schraeder was nicely done-- and proved a great match for Jared Calhoun's weasly Max The actors playing the seven Von Trapp children were each remarkable. Paul Mcelwer, who plays their father, Captain Von Trapp nailed it. Shoutout to our server, Laura Duffy who brought us our food with a smile-- then took to the stage to play dual roles as both a nun and a party guest. All proved to be a talented bunch and worked well together. Set changes were executed quickly and flawlessly. The lighting and sound were excellent. As for dinner, Candlight's motto is "No one goes hungry". With shrimp cocktail, full dinner plates and an array of desserts with complimentary coffee, tea and iced tea-- they certainly meet that goal. Already looking forward to a possible future visit for 'It's a Wonderful Life' in December."
"Fantastic dinner served by actors in the show. Suburb acting of all ages. Theatre is always packed. Reservations required months in advance yet all tables have great views of the stage. A must to attend at least once."
