"Drove 45 mins , paid 2 hours of parking , paid a bridge fee to be told I can’t be seen because of a referral. Call center where I made appt never advise me I had to bring a referral plus X-rays. Horrible service . Waste of complete time and money."
"This is a really good place. Myself and another person both had surgeries and other services performed here and everything was excellent. My fear was subsided due to the fact that this place has been there forever, with a LOT of senior staff members that exude confidence. The students careers depend on them doing well. They do. The last guy that did my cleaning was a really nice person. He was a third year student. Was very friendly and confident. He was serious but slightly humorous. Not too much. He stayed very professional and thorough. He is in the Army and plans to be an Army dentist for 4 years. The girl that helped fix my teeth was a mastermind. I now have a hollywood smile. Go here!"
"The students are very nice and friendly (any misinformation is not their fault), but the workers give out incorrect information that caused me to be in distress and a bill that was caught by surprise. I have the Upenn student dental insurance, and by logic it makes sense the Upenn dental school should take my insurance, apparently not. Not only that, all the workers I have been in contact with (simple cleaning, ortho initial consultation) have told me that with my student dental insurance, all my services with be covered. Just received a bill for my recent cleaning (that included an X-ray) as I thought would be covered. Ended up being charged for everything. After calling (had a conversation with the person on the phone who was extremely rude and talked to me as if I am stupid, when all I wanted was to clarify my questions and confusion as to why I received the bill), they finally informed me that my Penn student dental insurance is only good for appointments at the family practice. If I had known that, I would never have even gotten my cleaning done at the dental school! So now I am having to pay for a bill that I was under the impression was covered by my insurance. On top of that, I wanted to start invisalign treatment and already had an initial consultation on 9/18/23 with the Penn dental school ortho clinic, had my second appointment scheduled almost two months later on 10/30/23, which is now all for nothing because I am having to start over again with the Penn family practice and my initial consultation is not until 12/4/23. Thank you Penn dental Medicine."
"First and foremost, this is a dental school. No one forces anyone to come here or do anything without consent. I have been coming here from NEPA for over two years, and I am totally greatfull they've taken my case. Each student, to include the not so great ones, have been amazing. They've treated me with respect and have been patient with my scheduling issues. I drive two hours and spend many hours being cared for by good students and great faculty. I wouldn't go anywhere else."
"First visit checked in on time. They had changed my location in the building and decided a Specialist more appropriate. An hour passed and they came to me: “You were properly checked in, we will honor your appointment”. Initial exam/x-ray appointment was completed with the prosthodontist personal review of X-rays and teeth/gums. At checkout they asked me if could do an unscheduled cleaning now. Yes. They took me right in. Second visit checked in on time. They were backlogged yet honored my appointment. Dental impressions for night guard and bleach tray were performed by the prosthodontist herself and she said I would see her every visit. At checkout they agreed I could keep the dental molds and noted it in my chart. Note: it is up to me to schedule a return visit. I will. #LetsGuide"
