Factory 3

"I took a public speaking class with Aaren Rivard at Factory3. The space is great, very inviting and dynamic, with lots of opportunities to learn different things. The class itself was wonderful and exceeded my expectations. I do not like public speaking at all and was hesitant about participating. Aaren has a unique style of teaching which is both informative and participatory. He does a great job at making people relaxed and comfortable. This class was great because it not just taught you skills to speak better publicly, it also helped clarify the reasons for why you want to improve this skill. I think this class would be great for anyone, but in particular people who are looking for a public speaking course that is not solely centered around business and more corporate settings (although it can apply to that as well). I would highly recommend it, and look forward to returning to the space for more classes."

"A great space for all kinds of makers. As a woodworker, I needed shop space for just three months while I was in Portland, temporarily. The people who work there and manage the space are very thoughtful, engaging and supportive. I will definitely be back at Factory 3 when I get back to the area. Not only did it provide me with a place to work but also gave me an environment to be inspired by others working around me."

"I started taking classes at Factory 3 in woodworking last year. The instructors here are really helpful and care about your learning process. I joined soon after my second class. Being new to Portland it has been wonderful to talk with other members about their projects and interests. I’m really happy to be part of this community"

"Factory 3 is great. I’m a multimedia artist always getting into new mediums and working on multiple projects. I’ve taken a couple of really great workshops to familiarize myself with the equipment, and have been sailing through with my creations since. I really enjoy the community here—friendly and willing to share thoughts and resources when talking shop, clean, respectful of the space and co-use with others... Come by to take a class, utilize the space, and connect with folks who are in our artist and maker communities. The space has grown in the few months I’ve been around, and there are always plans to expand and better serve member’s needs."

"Got a chance to take the intro woodworking class at factory 3 and it was so much fun! Made a nice cutting board of solid maple and introduced to the miter saw, joiner, planer, table saw, and was able to use the band saw, router, and sander to take some creative liberties. Super fun and rewarding class taught by Eric. Thanks!!"
