In addition to the excellent care he gives my children he has coached us to be the best parents possible by giving us the tools necessary to handle any situation. We go to our Berkun playbook immediately when someone is not feeling well. He always answers our calls, during or after hours, and routinely goes above and beyond, but especially when we have needed him the most. His love, attention to detail, and thoroughness is unmatched. "You’d not find a pediatrician who is as dedicated to his profession as Dr. Berkun. He is always very thorough in our visits (perhaps too thorough so visits tend to take a long time, but it is a happy problem to have). He genuinely wants to know how the child is developing. He takes time to explain the growth curves, diet and nutrition, the reason for administering medications, and once, even explained to my child a 3-step process on how to deal with conflict with other children. We do not always agree on every aspect of child-raising, but he has respected our personal decisions for breastfeeding and extended co-rooming with the children. I will always remember Dr. Berkun coming for daily visits with my newborn, when I was in hospital for close to 2 weeks due to complications. He always had an encouraging word for me, and also shared notes on both my baby and my progress with my husband, who could not visit due to COVID-era policies. After my discharge from hospital, it was a challenge for me to find time to show up for my newborn’s appointments, and Dr. Berkun offered to come into office on the weekend. His caring extends beyond his patient to encompass the family of which the child is part. This is the kind of doctor you’d want to look after your children’s well-being."

"Our journey with Dr. Berkun started with our prenatal appointment about a month before our daughter's due date; I highly recommend making a prenatal appointment with Dr. Berkun to get to know him and his approach to care. When our daughter was born, Dr. Berkun visited us each day during our hospital stay -- which was our first introduction to his attentive care and thoroughness with our infant. What makes Dr. Berkun especially unique is his approach to empowering parents and providing us the information we need to care for our child in between visits, but remains accessible in the event of an emergency. Dr. Berkun always thinks ahead, proactively anticipates questions a parent may have, and explains his thought process in a way that is approachable for parents. "Dr Berkun is a wonderful Doctor. We were initially referred to Doctor Berkun by another doctor in the area. We were impressed by his credentials, but when we met him at his Stamford office prior to our son's birth, we were even more impressed. Dr Berkuns care of our son started while we were still in the hospital just after he was born. The day after our son was born, he performed the circumcision and all of the testing himself. Typically you are assigned a pediatrician at the hospital and then go see your pediatrician in the office for ongoing care. But since Dr Berkun provides hospital services, we were able to have Dr Berkun overseeing our son's care from the beginning, which we were so grateful for. Also, going forward, we are comforted by the fact that if our son ever needs to go to the hospital in the future, Dr Berkun will go there too. None of the other pediatricians we interviewed offered these hospital services. Our son is nearly two now, and in all of our visits during this time, Dr Berkun has been extremely thorough and pays attention to every detail - he really cares deeply about his patients. He is also really great with kids - he makes the visits enjoyable and our son is always excited to go see him. For us as parents, Dr Berkun has taught us the skills as first time parents that we need to identify and deal with many issues, which has made everything so much easier for us! He is also always available - no matter the hour we've called him, he has always been responsive and gotten back to us promptly. I can't tell you how reassuring this is to know he is always there if we ever need him.. My husband and I consider ourselves very fortunate that we have someone like him looking after our son. "Dr. Berkun is an incredible pediatrician. He cares about his patients, is the most thorough doctor I have ever experienced and he has a wonderful sense of humor. We feel very grateful to have found him as Dr. Berkun is the type of doctor you imagine for your children but are convinced no longer exists. When my daughter was born, he was the one who showed up the hospital - not once, but twice during our short stay.
