Melanie Lynch

Melanie Lynch, MD, FACS, is a highly experienced and board-certified General Surgeon and Surgical Oncologist, specializing in breast cancer surgery. She currently serves as the Assistant Professor of Surgery (Oncology) and Director of Breast Surgery at Smilow Cancer Hospital Bridgeport, Fairfield, and Trumbull offices, as well as the Norma Pfriem Breast Center. Dr. Lynch has a strong background in oncoplastic techniques, including nipple sparing mastectomy and surgical approaches for the prevention of lymphedema.

With a focus on patient-centered care, Dr. Lynch has developed innovative clinical programs such as multidisciplinary clinics for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, a high-risk program for women at increased risk of breast cancer, survivorship care, and integrative medicine for managing cancer treatment symptoms. She was recognized for her innovative approach with the Crain’s Cleveland Business Physician Innovator Award in 2018.

Located at 5520 Park Avenue in Trumbull, Connecticut, Dr. Lynch's institution provides next-day access and expedited biopsies for women with concerns of cancer. With her dedication to advancing breast cancer treatment and patient care, Dr. Lynch is a valued member of the medical community in Connecticut.
