"I’ve been on the hunt for a new pair of black ripped skinny jeans and I thought I would check torrid. The girl that helped me (I don’t remember her name) was extremely helpful and attentive. I showed her a reference of what I was looking for and she walked me through the different options and brought a pair out for me to try. The jeans were nice but the price was ridiculous($100) so it’s safe to say they were well over my budget and I didn’t like them enough to spend that kind of money. Before I left, I explained to the employee that they were out of my preferred price range and that I would have to wait until I get paid to purchase them if my other options didn’t work out. She suggested I apply for the credit card so I would get 40% off but I just explained that even with the discount it’s still a lot of money for a pair of jeans. no matter what i said she just kept trying to push me to apply for the card and wouldn’t take no for an answer even after I said I have bills and other finances I have to take care of and that I can’t just throw around that kind of money for one pair of jeans. I also work in retail so I totally understand that you have to promote things like credit card applications but to push it on someone continuously even when they say they are not interested is ridiculous."
"I'm so grateful to both employees that helped me out. I did not get their names I messed up there. But I went in on sept 17 2023 at 1:20 pm I hope you both see this you both made me feel so comfortable that I'm actually looking forward to going shopping again. Thank you so much."
"Super considerate and compassionate environment where they understand a messed up had occured on both ends and did a exchange. Had such good variety that I ended up spending more than I intended. If you have an issue on size than keep the tags and do a return or exchange, no judgement zone. Update; I still appreciate the customer service but I'm going to have to subtract a star cause of the bra situation. The conflict was resolved but the missizing missed me up for long. So the sales associate size me as a 42DDD, they try to give me a 40G and I left with a 38G. Thinking I'm now a 38, got a 38H still didnt fit. Went online and turns out I'm a 36J. It's odd to me that a plus store dont have anything above a G. But also it's really inappropriate to not have people train on bra sizing. If they dont know what to do then dont have them on that job cause I spent way more money on bras I dont fit in compare to literally just getting the proper sizing that I needed."
"Completely disappointed! I placed an online order. I went to pick it up. I received my items (so I thought) in a completely sealed package. When I opened the package, only 1/3 items was in the bag. I went back into the store to show my documentation and the employees explained that they searched for the other two items but the store did not have them. I asked why didn’t you tell me that when I arrived to pick my order up? Better yet - call me to let me know? I tried to return the one item (it was futile to venture out for only one item). The employees then told me since I had picked up the order I had to wait a day to return it. In summary, impeccably poor customer service. I will not be placing a pick up order from this location ever again. I give the Meriden and Buckland Mall stores credit because when they don’t have something, someone actually calls you. I recommend the Westfarms’ store does some cross training with their evening staff. I’ve never had a problem with the day staff."
"My experience here wasn't the best... When I walked in, I was not acknowledged by any of the employees not even a "Hello, welcome to Torrid". I thought it was straight up rude that they completely ignored my precense, even when I was walking by. They would help other customers when the customer walked up to them but they never asked if any of us needed help. The changing room situation was confusing as there was no one operating it and we all just went in on our own. I think I might just buy online for now, and word of advice: as someone who works in retail, it's really important that you interact with the customer instead of blowing people off. It's really not a good image..."
