"Terrible management & apartment falling apart! LOW LOW LOW quality for the hefty price"

"In December I reached out to Gena DiDonato, whom is Peter Kosann’s representing realtor, for the commercial property of 229 Harrison Ave. Harrison, NY (Mr. Kosann’s commercial building that he inherited with Harrison Playhouse Lofts). Gena represented the property as being able to build partition walls in it (texts to prove this as well) and explained Mr. Kosann will be replacing the bathroom making it ADA compliant. I was sent a lease by Briana to receive keys by February 1, 2023. I signed the lease, had it notarized to their request, and sent my security deposit. On February 1st Briana met with myself, my husband, and my contractor’s business to hand me the keys. The space was not ready to be moved into. It had wires hanging from the walls, open ceiling tiles, holes in the walls, a hot water heater exposed with wires going across the floor, and a bathroom light that was not accessible to shut off (the space did not look like this when I saw it in December). She stuck around talking with us explaining the bathroom is not ADA compliant and that the landlord is the only one to use the bathroom (in a commercial space). She encouraged my contractor to do work by providing ideas, showing us the property next door that was under construction (231 Harrison Ave. Harrison, NY), and helping measure the rooms with us. She also mentioned she will go to the building department on February 2nd to obtain permits for us and find out about displaying our sign as Peter Kosann wanted all signs to be uniform for his buildings (not mentioned in his lease). On February 2nd I received an email from Briana that she was taken back from our conversation on the 1st because they weren’t aware of us building partition walls in the space and expected my business to function in an open room and no one use the bathroom. She asked to amend the lease twice including raising my rent and extending my term, as well as using their contractor to build as they didn’t use permits to build in the first place. There were MULTIPLE conversations, for her to be surprised is a complete lie. I was not able to move into the space due to the space not being ready, but paying from February 1st, as well as constant back and forth conversation that I could do nothing with that space. It has been a nightmare to say the least. Peter Kosann kept my security deposit and charged me $1,500 for early termination of my lease! The only time I stepped foot in that space was to collect my keys on February 1st and that is when the nightmare began! This landlord and company took advantage of a woman-owned SMALL business! He made money off of me for absolutely no reason as I couldn’t utilize the space! BEWARE IF RENTING FROM PETER KOSANN AND PLAYHOUSE LOFTS!! Peter Kosann stole from a woman owned small business and took advantage of me!"
