"Recently moved in. Worst privatized housing I've ever lived in. Horrible communication, disgusting property, littered yard, downgrade from previous home in NC, small rooms, dirty garage and storage rooms. Seems as of previous tenant did nothing to clean before moving out and housing office neglected it as well. Half the floor heaters work, fridge doesn't seal shut, paint on floors, shower flooding. All things that could've been fixed and cleaned prior to moving us in. Not recommended. We live in the conning towers neighborhood."
"It is January here in Groton Ct and it is cold. I live on Michigan and we have not had working heat since January 10th which was 10 days ago. I understand that they have a complicated job to fix the oil tank but that doesn’t help me feel any better as I write this review in my apartment that is barely 50 degrees even with the space heaters they have given us to use. No management has contacted us with any updates as to when the work will be done or with any better solution for us other than the space heaters. Then I was also told by the leasing representative that our rent will be raised by 20% come April. These apartments are not worth what I am paying for them now. Entrance doors that only stay shut if they are locked, windows that are so old I won’t open them because I need to call maintenance to get them closed again, a toilet that sounds like an industrial hammer when you flush it and an oven that I don’t trust because the heating element exploded. Then there’s the cracked flooring tiles the cracked sink in the downstairs bathroom that I was told would be fixed after I moved in. I have been putting up with this for a while because I work here in Groton and my kid goes to school here in Groton but I have had it. Don’t move in to beacon point homes unless you like to be forgotten. The new add I hear on the radio by Danielle says that you will be toasty and warm moving in to Beacon Point home. That is such a lie!!! I can barely type this review because my fingers are so cold right now."
"We have lived in the Groton “Military” housing area for the last 16 years and over 20 years in broken time periods over my military career and since I retired. I am a disabled veteran who lives on a “Fixed income” as my percentage is 100%. The last 16 years have seen no less than 5 Name changes (assuming these changes were ownership related) with each regime shift, things have gotten progressively worse yet still affordable and fair rent increases, until Beacon Point Homes née Balfour Beatty. The posts that I have read are correct about just closing out maintenance jobs even when you tell them they were not completed satisfactorily. They take longer to take care of issues, made it much more complicated to actually talk to the people that fix the houses, by installing a go between “call center” that is NOT “on site”. So why would we stay in a place like this, because it was still fair in increasing rent prices in conjunction with COLA increases. Until Beacon Point comes along and they decide let’s Increase tenants rent by almost 400 dollars from one lease to the next. Great treatment of Veterans I think not. No wonder so many moving trucks take people out of here."
"Management, maintenance, employees are all HORRENDOUS. Moved us into a house that nobody lived in for a while (we could tell by everything breaking as soon as we moved in) The property did not have a working furnace and they still allowed us to move in. For the first 3 months of us living on the property we had no heat (some nights got down to 25 degrees). After submitting about 10 maintenance requests they finally sent someone that was an actual HVAC tech. All the other guys were clueless. Management is cowardly. Refuse to face their tenants. This is by far the worst military housing community I’ve experienced, from the west coast to the east coast. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE"
"i see a lot of negative reviews, so i wanted to give my input! i have called a few times before and encountered someone who was not friendly on the phone. that was my only negative experience. from there i reached out to the the operations director and he was extremely helpful in answering my questions and getting me a tour. i toured with Heather, and let me say she was absolutely AMAZING!! she was so helpful answering all my questions and i am looking forward to working with her. also a shout out to Asyah as she was extremely helpful as well. my husband and i left having all of our questions answered and excitement for hopefully moving in soon. shout out to heather and asyah for turning my negative experience into a positive one :)"
