"I had a confirmed appointment with the owner Kate only to find out that I was handed down to her stylist. While the cut is fine, I was very taken aback that I was charged (top of the range) $70 for a very simple short hair cut only; no wash, no blow dry and no products. I usually pay $65 for my cut, wash and blow-dry with their Master Stylist! (Advertised: All HAIRCUTS INCLUDE THE CUT, WASH AND BLOW-DRY $50-70) Upon inquiring twice via their contact email which says "GET IN TOUCH" "We LOVE to hear from our guests. Your feedback enables us to improve the experience for everyone. So please get in touch" I'm still waiting to hear back from them - 8 days later and counting! Furthermore they must have received it as the confirmation was "Thank you for contacting Kate Emilies A Salon. We will contact you about your question as soon as possible." I find it extremely poor customer service to relegate me to another hairdresser without even a phone call but then charging me the owner's pricing and ultimately not responding to multiple inquiries? My response to the salon: Thank you for finally responding! At the same time however, I'm disheartened to see that you only sprung into action after my public review.I do hope that you, going forward, value any input a client gives you, promptly and seriously."

"I'm not usually one to leave a review, but I felt compelled to after my experience at Kate Emilie's Salon. I was attended to by Kate, the owner, who was just so kind and gentle with me. She understood my concerns and hesitations going to a new salon as someone with curly hair. Kate answered all my questions and walked me through the process of cutting my hair. Communication was very easy and focused on the health of my hair and what my end goal was. The hour flew by and the end result? Amazing! I got long layers with face framing pieces and I could not have been happier. Even with the intense humidity, the curly cut still looks great! I am so happy to have found Kate's salon. I will be coming again for all my future hair endeavors."

"Kate does a fantastic job with hair coloring, highlights and cuts. I'm a woman of a certain age that has been getting my hair done for longer than I will admit. I have been to the top salons in both CT and NY and am very particular. I know good work - and that is what Kate does. I always receive compliments on my hair. The last time was at a family event in which folks wanted to know if I just had my hair done it looked so good - when in fact it was weeks ago. I get a base color, foils and a glaze and the results are always perfect. I've been to other high-end salons in the Fairfield area and have paid much, much more for less than perfect results. I love the staff. The salon is warm and inviting with a boutique feel. Cannot recommend Kate and the salon enough! P.S. Within the salon is a wonderful selection of fashion items by Carole Gerber. Highly recommended. My daughter, granddaughter and I go together and make a day of it. We are all happy with our various styles."
