"A total surprise for me, a hidden gem of Asian food. I’ve only been twice because it’s far but I would come every day. Sushi rolls are my favorite food and I’ve tried them all over the place and Sushi King has the best ones ever. It’s more fish than rice and it looks and tastes amazing. Cozy atmosphere and fantastic owners."
"Can’t ask more. Came from city and did a half day hiking at the storm king trails. Quick google search and this restaurant jumps out as the first. We give it a try since it is 15 mins drive away. The lady there is super nice. It is a small restaurant but things and food there you can feel the heart they put inside this business. You will be surprised by the volume of the food they serve to you. Nothing more, just click the direction and go there if you are like me."
"Wow, absolutely amazing. Before I get into the specifics, definitely pay this place a visit. As a Korean, and as an avid Asian food lover, this place is ranked best in my books for Korean cuisine. The owners are this cute husband and wife duo. They speak Korean, the wife speaks English but the husband does not fluently so please be patient!!! The good: everything honestly. We got the fried mandu and chicken combo, soondoobu jjigae, Bulgogi, and spicy pork dishes. The portions are humongous so definitely family style it up and share amongst your table. Miso soup is served for free and has this unique umami flavor I haven’t tasted before in a miso. The mandu and chicken were fried perfectly, and didn’t leave you feeling heavy afterwards The soondoobu jjigae had tons of tofu (as in the name), and the gochujang flavor was perfect. Served boiling at the table The Bulgogi was your basic meat but nonetheless this dish always hits The spicy pork was the best. Super spicy and flavorful. I could not stop eating it. For those sensitive to spice, I wouldn’t get this dish but for those who do, I stuffed myself full! The bad: I can’t say anything was not good. We did have to ask for water as it wasn’t brought to the table until then, and this place does not have a bathroom. But what are you coming here to do? Eat! So who cares this place is amazing Overall: you have to try this place. Even tho we live mostly in Albany I will 100% be back soon just for this place alone. The best Korean restaurant I’ve been to out of the ones in upstate. This place competes well out of the ones in NYC too since that’s where we live part-time."
"As a food reviewer all the way from Missouri who has been everywhere and eaten all types of cuisine, every once in awhile you find a gem of a place that stays true to its roots and the food is just amazing. That was Sushi King for me.. I got the Bulgolgi, Spicy Pork, Kimchi, Yaki Mandu, Sushi, Sashimi and Miso. The Miso was homemade with fresh seaweed. No pre-made broth. The soy sauce was homemade. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The service was great. The atmosphere was very warm and relaxing. But the joy was seeing the cook making things homemade and just singing in Korean. Doing what he loves and just sharing his culture with the world at the same time. You can tell that love And pride goes into the food. If you've never had Korean food this place is the most authentic you'll find in America. I guarantee it!!"
"We’ve been eating at Sushi King for over six years since moving to West Point. It’s nestled on Main Street not far from Thayer Gate and within walking distance from Thayer hotel, Visitor’s Center, West Point Museum, and the old 5 Star Inn. We love the choices of Japanese and Korean dishes and especially love the family who own and operate the restaurant. They are so gracious, friendly, and so generous. My favorite dish is the Bi Bim Bop Hot Pot, but have sampled a variety of soups and nori roll, and their bulgogi is delicious! Nice portions and well priced. They even deliver! I highly recommend!"
