"Horrible!!! Key cards do not work. Had to go to lobby to get new ones 3 times. At check out, no one was available at front desk. Even with me ringing the bells. No one came, the lobby was deserted. The smell is dingy and just plain horrible."
"DO NOT STAY HERE! I picked this hotel because on their website the amenities include a coffee maker and refrigerator in room (2 of my requirements). I booked the king spa suite, the price was right. When we walked into the "suite" the first thing we noticed was no fridge, then no coffee maker. We took a room half the size of the suite (charged the same "jaccuzzi room" price) with a refrigerator, no coffee maker. The second day our card keys didn't work. When the keys were fixed we asked what time coffee was served with the continental breakfast, the response was we don't have that, and every room has a coffee maker. It was not a great experience and to top it off when we did get to use the tub only some of the jets worked."
"The building does not look as nice as the online picture which must be an older photo or retouched to look brighter. Checkin was pleasant and quick. Room rate was inexpensive. My car parked free right at the door to my room making unloading a snap. The room has a keyless single use card system for entry. The door has a deadbolt lock and a chain. As soon as I opened the door, the smell of stale smoke was so overpowering and strong that I never adapted to it even by morning, even though I am a former smoker. As the room overlooks Rt 10 there is no attractive view. It is located very close to Quinnipiac University. The room had 2 queen beds with wall lamps over the nightstand. There was no overhead ceiling light nor any floor lamp. The only other light was a large round disc on the wall behind the tv. To see the tv properly you must turn off that light (or you are staring into it) so the only lights now are the wall lamps over the nightstand, which is not much light for the whole room. Flat screen TV. Free Cable had about a dozen or more channels including several in Spanish and several that had news shows. I couldn’t find any movie to watch. There was a nice size refrigerator which I used, and a mini microwave which I didn’t open or try. There was no advertised coffeemaker . There was an ice bucket and 1 plastic cup. I don’t know where the ice machine was, or if there even is one. There is free wi-fi but I didn’t trust connecting to it. The nightstand had a phone. No alarm clock. The Queen beds had a soft pillowtop mattress which some might like. If you like a hard mattress this wouldn’t be for you. Each bed had just 2 pillows ( unlike in their photos ). The bed I used had one pillow that was much thinner than the other. Neither was very comfortable. Bed linens were clean, at least visibly. A closet nook included an iron and board. There were 3 drawers for clothing,an oversized wall mirror, desk w chair. The room does not include a club chair nor table. The bathroom appeared clean. There was a single sink, toilet with no lid ( so you can’t sit there to dress after showering), empty metal tissue box. The amenities were two teeny bars of soap and two teensy tubes containing one squirt of shampoo (I needed to use both to wash my hair once). No conditioner. No lotion. A wall mounted hair dryer which I did not test. There was a bath mat , 2 washcloths….one of which was damp!! …2 hand towels, 2 bath towels. The towels were much thinner and worn than expected, and the bath towels were smaller sized than at other places I’ve stayed at. . The shower/tub was clean, with a curtain, and there was sufficient hot water for my shower. The bathroom had a curtain less window. The window slid open horizontally, not up and down. I discovered it unlocked and I could not get the window to lock!!! I tried to wedge it shut but it could easily be entered. This was on the first floor. Very unsafe!!!!!!!!!!!!! I left the bathroom light on all night. The motel is located on busy Rt. 10 (aka Whitney Ave.) so there is traffic noise. It doesn’t happen to bother me, though. The motel had NO free breakfast whatsoever.despite that being advertised and something I was counting on. Not even coffee. In fact when I first went to get the breakfast at 8 am, the office building was locked and the dining room empty and completely food less ( easily seen through large windows). The office entry was unlocked later but the breakfast never appeared. There is no onsite restaurant or coffee shop for purchasing food. (I drove a couple minutes on Rt 10 and brought back pizza for supper.) One night here was one night too many! This is the only bad review I’ve ever left for a motel or hotel in my long lifetime."
"Please read all reviews before booking. When we pulled up to the place, it looked a bit dingy and creepy. Entering the lobby required passing through two sets of locked glass doors--a bit suspicious, it made me wonder if the usual clientele or the neighborhood was dangerous. The online ad said breakfast was included, but the first thing we saw at the front desk was a hastily scrawled sign reading "Breakfast only on weekends." It was a weekday. We started to ask about that and got no real response from a confused seeming desk clerk. Meanwhile I noticed some shifty looking characters standing outside smoking. We asked to see the room before we checked in, because the place started to seem very questionable to me. Before we even found the room (the directions were confusing) we decided to find another hotel. The clerk said she could not cancel our reservation, because the manager was not there. He would return at 5 PM, she said. We went to another hotel and called this place a few times, worrying that they might charge our credit card as a no-show. The manager never showed up, and each time we called, the clerk gave a different estimated arrival time for the elusive manager. Finally, I emailed the address on their website about cancelling and please don't charge us--and the email bounced back as undeliverable. A very shady place. Avoid!"
"This room was so sub par. Dirty floor. Broken cabinet for the fridge. No outlets for charging except on one lamp far from the bed. Very smelly. Mold in bathroom. NO SHOWER CURTAIN (what????) Broken shower fixture ok—I’ll sponge bath—-but no——No washclothes. Wi-Fi did not work. Lots of patrons smoking outside their doors seeping in the room. No continental breakfast even though it advertised it. Honestly—-shame shame shame on these owners for giving two seniors this room and charging $100."
