"This is a wonderful new option for staying in the area. I probably should give it a five but the front desk staff could have been more courteous. The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable."
"I had booked 5 rooms in November of 2023. One room had no heating, and inspite of multiple calls to front desk, the issue was not fixed. The front assured my guest that they would not charge for the room with no heating. However, they did not keep their word and charged us for all 5 rooms. My repeated calls/emails to to regional sales manager went unanswered. Went to the hotel personally but no one knew how to help. Was told to get back aftyer 4 days since their onsite manager was not available before then. Poor service, irresponsible and not trustworthy."
"My room was booked by the company I worked for through a third party and charged as such. When I arrived on January the 8th, 2024 the lady at the front desk who checked me in seemed odd in taking my card for the incidentals hold usually done at check in. I reiterated that this stay wasn’t to be charged to my visa, but to the card that was booked through the third party booking company. I had to swipe my card for her more than once and it felt shady at that moment. I even checked my account while there and saw the hold on my card, which was the norm. But then I got home to find a $497.91 charge to my card from Residence Inn Hamden, CT 3703-Travel & Entertainment/Card w the last 4 of my credit card on my visa transaction account history. So I called directly to the residence Inn to resolve this issue and the response was there’s nothing on there record saying my card was charged. Of course, the company I worked for also got billed. It would have been a perfect stay if it wasn’t for the fraud charge that came directly from this hotel. Be aware!"
"Front desk staff were really not friendly or helpful at all. The rooms/suites are pretty typical with other Residence Inns, however this one did not have an oven or dishwasher. Some of the cons were: 1. We were supposed to get free water bottles in our room. Even after pointing this out to the front desk they said no, we had to purchase waters. Their website and app for this location states that water is included in the rate I paid. So that was disappointing that the front desk continued to not honor this. 2. The breakfast was really bad. When staying in a hotel, you know that the breakfast is not great quality, but this was worse than usual. Even my children, who love waffles, said the waffles were just too sugary and inedible."
"I'm pretty sure that the hotel is one of the best in town. Really new and nicely equipped rooms, spacious, with functional kitchenette and sofa/office area. The heated pool is a nice touch (clean, too!). Breakfast is better than usually at American hotels. Our cleaning service never showed up, but since we were staying two nights, it never was an issue. Definitely coming back if we need to stay in the neighborhood!"
