In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we offer various services to support the well-being of our customers. This includes COVID-19 testing, COVID-19 vaccination, and COVID-19 antiviral medicine without the need for a prescription. However, please note that we are not currently providing COVID-19 testing and recommend referring to a list of other available testing services.

Our team of pharmacists is dedicated to promoting the health of your family. They are well-equipped to provide advice and treatment for common minor illnesses across all age groups. With their expertise, you can trust that your prescriptions will be dispensed accurately, ensuring that the medication and dosage are suitable for your needs. Our pharmacists will also guide you on the purpose of your prescribed medicines, how to take them, potential side effects, and proper storage methods.

At Macandrew Bay Pharmacy, we prioritize professionalism and confidentiality in all our interactions. Most of our services are free of charge and do not require appointments. Additionally, we offer a safe disposal service for expired or unwanted medicines, as well as needles and syringes, at no cost to you.

Please note that we are closed on public holidays, including King's Birthday, Matariki, Labour Day, Waitangi Day, Otago Anniversary, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, and ANZAC Day.

For individuals with long-term illnesses, we provide a specialized service that assesses the factors affecting their medication adherence. Our pharmacists work closely with patients to address these issues and coordinate prescription refills, minimizing the need for multiple trips. We also offer reminder services, such as text messages, emails, or phone calls, to ensure timely collection of medications. As part of our commitment to community health, we participate in the DHB Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) program, administering methadone or Suboxone as agreed upon. Additionally, our staff is trained to provide support for smoking cessation, offering advice and quit smoking aids like nicotine gum.

We understand the importance of proper medication management, which is why we offer compliance packaging services. Our pharmacists can repack your medicines into blister packs or sachet rolls, clearly indicating when and how to take them. This packaging system helps ensure medication adherence, especially while traveling, and makes it easier to track your dosage schedule.

Macandrew Bay Pharmacy also provides a range of medical equipment for hire or purchase, assisting individuals with mobility and disability challenges. Our pharmacists are trained to assess the appropriateness of emergency contraception (ECP) in a confidential manner, and we offer sildenafil prescriptions for erectile dysfunction in men aged 35 to 70 who meet specific assessment criteria.

For women between 16 and 65 years of age, we can supply the antibiotics nitrofurantoin or trimethoprim for urinary tract infections without a prescription. Our pharmacists will conduct a consultation to ensure the medication is suitable for you and refer you to a general practitioner if necessary.
