Welcome to EIT: School of Computing, located at Napier, Gloucester Street, 501 in New Zealand. As an establishment and point of interest, we are proud to be a part of the Eastern Institute of Technology | Te Aho a Māui | New Zealand.
At EIT's School of Computing, we believe that your career as a computing professional starts here and now. We offer a range of practical hands-on programmes to help you kickstart your journey. From flexibly delivered Certificate programmes to full or part-time Diploma, Degree, and Postgraduate programmes, we have options for everyone.
We understand the importance of computer skills in today's job market. Whether you're looking to land that dream job, earn a promotion, or increase your earning potential, developing your computing skills is crucial. That's why we offer free and flexible computing short courses that you can complete from the comfort of your own home.
We are proud to have NOW as a regular sponsor of EIT interns, providing them with the practical experience necessary to complete the EIT Bachelor of Computing Systems degree. With our innovative new courses in mechatronics, computer vision, and machine learning, you'll be equipped to thrive in the well-paid, fast-moving IT industry.
Studying at EIT gives you the opportunity to gain a serious computing qualification that is designed to help you secure employment in the IT industry. Our Diploma programmes and the Bachelor of Computing Systems Degree include industry-based placements or internships, which can lead to permanent employment. Many of our graduates have even secured IT jobs while studying, setting them up for success upon completion of the programme.
Take Andrew King, for example, who recently graduated with his Bachelor of Computing Systems and landed a job at NOW in Napier. Hear about Andrew's experiences as a student, what he enjoyed most about the course, and his advice to anyone considering studying at EIT.
All our computing Degree and specialist Diploma programmes offer an industry-based project, providing you with the opportunity to work with industry professionals either as an intern or on a specific project with a commercial organization.
Our purpose-built Information Technology Complex at the Hawke's Bay Campus is equipped with nine networked computer labs, each with 24 student workstations. These rooms are environmentally controlled and equipped with data show equipment. We also have specific labs for software development, hardware, multimedia, and project work, as well as a 50-seat tiered lecturer theatre.
We are proud to celebrate the achievements of our graduates, especially those who faced disruptions due to COVID-19. Two hundred and forty graduates received their qualifications at our recent ceremony.
If you're looking to graduate with a Bachelor of Computing Systems from the Tairāwhiti Campus of EIT, we congratulate Izaya (Izzy) Jahnke, who will be joining the ranks of our successful alumni.
We are pleased to announce that parts of our campus have reopened for the start of Semester 2, ensuring that our learners have access to quality education.
