As the leader of Taradale Primary for the past twelve years, I can confidently speak about our school and its culture. What sets us apart and makes us truly special? It's the people. We are a friendly and caring school, with approximately 470 learners from year 0 to year 6. Our dedicated teaching staff, supportive parents and caregivers, and the local community form a strong foundation for our institution.

At Taradale Primary School, we place a high emphasis on Personal Excellence and Respect. We value and appreciate the diverse backgrounds and experiences that each child brings to our kura (school) every day. We genuinely care about their potential and aspirations, and we strive to build warm and nurturing relationships with our students and their families. Through this, we foster learner agency and empower our students to take ownership of their education.

Our school is learner-centred, where both staff and students are open to and engaged in learning. We believe in fostering hauora, the holistic well-being of our entire school community, which underpins everything we do. Additionally, we place a strong emphasis on providing a broad range of opportunities for all akonga (learners) to grow and learn, ensuring they have the chance to explore their interests and reach their full potential.

In terms of our academic calendar, we operate in four terms. Term 1 runs from Wednesday 1st February to Thursday 6th April, Term 2 from Wednesday 26th April to Friday 30th June, Term 3 from Monday 17th July to Friday 22nd September, and Term 4 from Monday 9th October to Wednesday 20th December.
