Rebound Dance Company

Welcome to Rebound Dance Company, located at Alport Place in Christchurch, New Zealand. Founded in 2009 by a group of passionate dance practitioners, Rebound has become a platform for performance and professional development for seasoned, mature dancers.

Our mission at Rebound is to create inspiring works that not only captivate our audiences but also celebrate the incredible gift of dance that we all share. We believe in the power of movement to touch hearts and souls, and we strive to deliver performances that are both innovative and gritty, showcasing the awesomeness and beauty of integrity in movement.

What sets Rebound apart is our commitment to supporting maturing artists. Throughout the years, our company has consistently dedicated itself to growth and development, even amidst our busy lives. We work in a supportive environment, drawing on our strengths, experience, and prior training to create professional-quality performances.

Each project at Rebound is led by an artistic director, ensuring a cohesive vision and direction whether we're working towards a performance or professional development. We are a company of 15 dancers over the age of 40, who are not only dance and performance savvy but also deeply passionate about what we do.

We are proud of the works we create, and our success is a result of the passion and dedication we bring to each project. Our upcoming performances include the Seed Project exploring new works at the Hagley Dance Studio in May, the Haybales & Chandeliers Dance Theatre in June, and the Born Out of Curiosity Tour in September, which will take us to the Lyttleton Arts Factory and the Arts Festival in Dunedin.

In addition to performances, we also offer workshops such as Reflections in August and September, designed for professional dancers looking to enhance their skills. And to round out the year, we will be hosting an informal studio performance in December.
