Stoked Surf and Skate School

Welcome to Stoked Surf and Skate School, located at 28 The Esplanade in beautiful Christchurch, New Zealand. As an establishment, point of interest, and school, we are dedicated to providing exceptional surf and skate experiences for all ages.

Enroll now for Term 4 and join our afterschool and weekend sessions. These sessions serve as the perfect introduction to surfing before diving into one of our comprehensive surf courses. Available on Saturdays and Sundays, our lessons cater to youth under 17 years old from October through to April.

For kids aged 8-17, we offer fun, awesome, and engaging surf lessons after school from Monday to Thursday during terms four and one. And for those seeking weekend adventures, we have lessons throughout terms 4 and 1, where you can join the Salty Girls surf gang or the weekend surf groms and surf with your new friends every weekend in summer!

Looking for a more personalized experience? Opt for our private instructor option, where you can have your very own instructor for up to 2 hours. After the lesson, feel free to use our gear for another hour to practice your newfound skills on your own. This option is perfect for individuals wanting to progress and can even be used for up to 2 people.

At Stoked Surf School Sumner, our founder Donna Henderson, an ISA level 2 surf coach, leads the way. She is not only featured in the NZ surfing book "Surfers a Kiwi Lifestyle," but she is also the New Zealand Senior Woman's Surf champion and South Island Longboard title holder. When she's not out enjoying her daily surf therapy, Donna can be found in the water, teaching kids and inspiring women to get out into the ocean and give surfing a go.

Our mission is to create an awesome learning experience for people of all ages. Our coaches serve as positive role models in the surfing community, aiming not only to teach surfing but also to inspire individuals to continue on as surfers, sharing the stoke with their families and friends.
