Welcome to the UOC Simulation Centre, located at 72 Oxford Terrace in Christchurch, New Zealand. As an establishment and point of interest, we are proud to be a part of the University of Otago, Christchurch Simulation Centre (UOCSC).

Our institution is currently in the process of joining General Practice to become the Department of Primary Care and Medical Simulation. We invite you to visit the General Practice site for more information on this exciting development.

The UOC Simulation Centre was established as part of an initiative by the Otago Medical School to enhance clinical skills programmes and facilities across all three campuses of the University of Otago Division of Health Sciences. Our centre is specifically designed to deliver and support simulation-based education, covering a wide range of clinical and professional skills in the undergraduate medical programme (MB ChB) and other courses offered by the University of Otago, Christchurch.

Simulation-based education is a rapidly growing field within medical and health professional programmes, and our centre aims to build strong relationships with our academic and clinical colleagues who teach in these programs. We strive to provide a high-quality, safe, and enjoyable learning environment for our students, facilitating their transition from undergraduate to postgraduate learning.

At the UOC Simulation Centre, we offer a variety of educational and orientation sessions for those who wish to utilize our facilities and equipment. These sessions are accompanied by electronic and paper-based educational resources, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.

Additionally, depending on availability, our centre and resources may be hired by external users outside of the University. This offers a valuable opportunity for healthcare professionals and organizations to benefit from our state-of-the-art facilities.
