At the Faculty of Science, we offer five undergraduate degrees and over 20 postgraduate qualifications, giving you a variety of options to choose from. Our faculty is known for delivering a broad base of research and actively collaborating with industry, CRIs (Crown Research Institutes), and other tertiary institutions.

We are proud to have two of our University of Canterbury researchers receive the prestigious Canterbury Medical Research Foundation’s Major Projects Grants. This highlights the caliber of research being conducted within our faculty.

Our students are making a significant impact in their respective fields. For example, Toby is pursuing a Science degree, combining Physics and Mathematics to gain a deeper understanding of the world and the universe. Finn is working on environmental projects, including a BSc (Hons) project using seaweed to help reverse climate change. Brianne has founded a sustainable zero-waste beauty products company, Ethique, preventing over 10 million plastic bottles from being made and disposed of in landfills. Luke has already launched his own business, Vxt, while studying at our institution, setting himself up for a successful entrepreneurial career. Hamish started his journey with an internship at Interpret Geospatial Solutions and is now a Consultant mapping data for various projects.
