Welcome to Tai Tapu Playcentre, located at Canterbury, Old Taitapu Road, 815 in New Zealand. As an establishment, point of interest, and school, Tai Tapu Playcentre offers a unique early childhood education experience where children and their families can play and grow together.

At Playcentre, parents and whānau (extended family) take on the role of carers. Together, we create a village where your entire family can connect and thrive. With a high adult to child ratio, Playcentre provides a child-initiated program that is tailored to each child's strengths and interests.

Whether you have a new baby or are new to the community, Playcentre provides a welcoming space for babies, young children, and parents to come together. Our members enjoy a strong sense of belonging, and lifelong friendships are formed.

As a nationwide charity with over 400 centres across the country, Playcentre offers a supportive, fun, and friendly environment for you and your child. You won't just watch your child grow, you'll grow with them. Watch as your child's confidence blossoms through play and interaction with other children aged 0-6.

From building sandcastles to baking biscuits, painting to singing, and working with wood to shaping playdough, every session at Playcentre will captivate and excite your child. By actively participating in your child's learning, you can foster their development while also connecting with other parents and educators. Playcentre offers a range of activities that encourage messy play, sparking creativity and unlocking learning. Say yes to mess and explore paint, playdough, sand, clay, slime, and gloop with your child. This free event for families with children aged 0-6 is held at Playcentres across Aotearoa.

Infants are welcome to attend most Playcentre sessions and participate in regular activities. We also offer specialized sessions that focus on the needs of newborns to 1-year-olds, providing support and friendship for new parents.
