Ivey Hall (1878)- Lincoln University Library
About the Business
Welcome to Ivey Hall (1878) - Lincoln University Library, located at the corner of Ellesmere Junction Road and Springs Road in Lincoln, New Zealand. Our institution is not just a library, but also a point of interest and a knowledge hub known as Te Kete Wānaka.
At Ivey Hall, we strive to provide all the information and tools necessary for learning, teaching, and library services at Lincoln University. Whether you need advice or support on learning, careers, inclusive education, or teaching, our dedicated staff is here to assist you.
One of the key services we offer is training on various academic skills. We provide workshops on using EndNote, a software for managing references, as well as guidance on manually entering references, downloading references from databases, and creating citations and reference lists in Word. These workshops are particularly beneficial for postgraduate students and advanced writers.
Additionally, we offer an introduction to Minitab, a statistical software package, for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. This training equips students with the skills to effectively use Minitab for data analysis.
For those working on their theses and dissertations, we offer guidance on constructing academic arguments by incorporating information from reading and research into essays and reports.
We also understand the importance of providing a conducive environment for writing projects. Our writing retreats provide a dedicated time and space for you to focus on your writing, with peer encouragement and support. These informal half-day sessions help you structure your writing time and avoid distractions. Throughout the retreat, our writing, statistics, and information discovery advisers are available to provide guidance. We even have a midmorning break for you to relax and chat with fellow writers. Don't forget to bring your own cup!
In collaboration with the LU Career Centre, we present the Career Skills for Life Workshop series. These workshops aim to enhance your career skills, ensuring you are well-prepared for life beyond academia.
Whether you are a postgraduate student, an advanced writer, or someone seeking career guidance, Ivey Hall - Lincoln University Library is here to support you on your educational journey. Visit us today and discover the wealth of resources and services we have to offer.
