To ensure the reduction of COVID-19 transmission, our doctors are conducting most consultations over the phone. However, rest assured that in-person GP appointments are still available for those in need, particularly for urgent cases. We kindly request that non-urgent and routine appointments be conducted through alternative means whenever possible.

Please note that there may be occasions when our doors are temporarily locked during business hours. This measure is implemented to protect the health of our staff and ensure the continued operation of Family Doctors. We appreciate your understanding and assure you that our dedicated team is still diligently working and available by phone to meet your healthcare needs.

When you call to book an appointment, our trained reception staff will conduct phone triage by asking specific questions. This process allows us to schedule appointments that best suit your needs. We kindly ask for your cooperation and understanding as our staff exercises extra vigilance in booking face-to-face appointments.

Our waiting room has now transitioned to the carpark. If you have an in-person appointment, we kindly request that you arrive on time and wait in your car. For those who have received a text message instructing them to self-arrive in the carpark, please follow the provided link and prompts. If you have not received such a text, please contact our receptionist upon arrival, and they will guide you through the check-in process. Please wait for your doctor or nurse to call you and instruct you to enter the practice. Remember to wear your mask and scan the tracer app as you enter.

We kindly ask that you do not arrive at Family Doctors without an appointment. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time as we strive to provide safe and efficient healthcare services.

If you experience symptoms related to COVID-19, such as a headache, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, feeling tired, or any other less common symptoms like fever/chills, shortness of breath, a change in smell or taste, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea, or skin rash, it is crucial to stay at home and get tested. As case numbers rise, many common colds may actually be COVID-19 infections. If you are younger, healthy, and have received a booster vaccination, any COVID infection is likely to be mild.

For those who have not yet been vaccinated, we strongly encourage you to do so in order to reduce the risks associated with COVID-19 for yourself, our community, and our healthcare services. You can find information about local vaccine centers at https://vaccinations.bopdhb.health.nz/.

COVID-19 tests (swabs) are available on-site for our enrolled patients. Please contact us to be assessed and scheduled for a test. We kindly request that you do not come without an appointment. Testing is usually conducted at our Pyes Pa Road clinic, but if our bookings are full, you may need to visit a DHB community testing station.

If you have undergone a COVID-19 test and have not received your results after three days, you can call the 0800 225 449 hotline between 9am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Please refrain from calling before the three-day mark. It is important to note that you should not contact Pathlab for COVID-19 test results.
