Welcome to ReDiscover Education Centre, a leading institution located in Burnham, New Zealand. As an establishment and point of interest, we are dedicated to promoting waste minimisation and sustainability through our free programmes for schools and community groups in the Selwyn District.

At ReDiscover, we believe in providing hands-on, interactive programmes that feature solutions-based activities for all ages. Our on-site programmes, based at the Pines Resource Recovery Park, are specifically designed for primary, intermediate, and high school students. With a unique learning environment within a working resource recovery park and large-scale composting facility, our place-based learning approach offers an immersive experience for students. Additionally, community groups are also welcome to book our on-site programmes, as the content can be tailored to suit all ages.

For early childhood students, our outreach programmes provide an excellent opportunity to investigate waste management and reduction practices within their own classrooms. These programmes are targeted towards young learners and aim to engage both teachers and students in exploring sustainable practices from an early age.

Our programmes are built around the Waste Hierarchy, focusing on the top four tiers: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Recover. We also incorporate the concept of the Circular Economy, allowing participants to compare current economic systems to future ones. Through our programmes, we aim to educate individuals about the environmental impact of waste and, more importantly, provide practical solutions to address these issues.
