Founded by Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian educator, our school follows the Montessori method of education, which is based on the belief in the creative potential of children and their drive to learn.

Dr. Montessori discovered that certain simple materials could capture the interest and attention of young children in ways that were previously thought impossible. These materials, such as beads for pre-mathematics instruction and wooden slabs for reading movements, allowed children between the ages of three and six to work spontaneously and focused for extended periods of time.

At Trillium Montessori School, we embrace the Montessori philosophy, which emphasizes individual initiative and self-direction. Our teachers provide and demonstrate educational materials, but they remain in the background, allowing the child to handle and explore them independently. This approach promotes self-education and encourages the child's natural curiosity.

We believe in linking biological and mental growth through "Sensitive Periods," which correspond to ages when a child's interest and mental capacity are best suited for acquiring knowledge.
