Welcome to Kidsfirst Kindergartens Cashmere, located in Christchurch, New Zealand. Situated on Hackthorne Road, our kindergarten is tucked away down a quiet laneway, just a stone's throw away from Cashmere Primary School.

At Kidsfirst Kindergartens Cashmere, we provide a well-resourced, light, and spacious learning environment that fosters creativity and self-expression. Our goal is to empower children aged 2-5 years to make their own decisions about their learning at their own pace. Through uninterrupted play, children have the freedom to explore, discover, and work on their projects for sustained periods of time, while also involving others in their work.

One of the highlights of our kindergarten is our beautiful big backyard. With plenty of space to roam and play, children can develop their physical skills using a variety of moveable equipment and set their own challenges. Our outdoor area includes green grass, barked areas, gardens, and specially designed equipment to support children's physical growth. Regardless of the weather, our big trees provide shelter, and there are peaceful and quiet areas for moments of calm and reflection.

Our programme at Kidsfirst Kindergartens Cashmere promotes creativity and encourages children to take risks and try new things. We recognize and respond to each child's individual interests, igniting an excitement for learning. Play is a fundamental part of learning and development for our tamariki (children), and we encourage them to share their thoughts and ideas and explore their working theories at kindergarten.

Community and connectedness are at the heart of what we do. We value the relationships we build with our whānau (families) and look forward to making new connections. We celebrate the languages and cultures of our families, incorporating them into our early learning journey. Whānau and the wider community are encouraged to be involved in any way that suits them, whether it's lending a helping hand, participating in social events, or joining us for a part of our day.

We actively engage with our local community, helping our tamariki make connections and understand their place in the wider world. We have strong links with our local primary school, facilitating a smooth transition for your child as they move on from Kindergarten.

To ensure a smooth integration into our learning environment, we recommend initially enrolling for at least two full days, gradually building up to five days at your child's pace. This allows our teachers to get to know your child and provide consistent support for their learning.
