Welcome to Kidsfirst Kindergartens Queenspark, located in the heart of Christchurch, New Zealand. Situated next to Queenspark School, our kindergarten provides a vibrant and engaging environment for children aged 2 to 5 years.

As you approach our kindergarten, you'll notice the tall trees that surround our premises, creating a peaceful and natural setting. Behind these trees, you'll see our children actively exploring and learning in our beautiful backyard. Here, they have the freedom to make choices that connect them with our environment and community, fostering a sense of curiosity and discovery.

Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by our friendly tamariki (children) and dedicated teaching team. Our spacious and well-lit interior is adorned with the incredible artwork and learning achievements of our children, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Outside, our magical garden awaits, offering plenty of shaded areas and inspiring spaces for storytelling, games, and quiet reflection. Native plantings and carefully designed play equipment encourage physical activity and exploration. Our children have access to real resources such as tools and gardening equipment, allowing them to learn about risk management and make safe choices during play.

At Kidsfirst Kindergartens Queenspark, we prioritize a strong sense of belonging and environmental stewardship. We encourage our tamariki to care for each other and our surroundings, fostering a deep connection to their community. Our teachers collaborate with children and whānau (family) to create a responsive learning environment that reflects their interests and encourages personal growth.

We believe in fostering self-direction and independence in our tamariki. They have the freedom to choose when they would like to have their meals, often enjoying them in small groups. We also have a close relationship with Queenspark School, regularly visiting their classrooms and participating in concerts and celebrations. The senior students from Queenspark Primary School visit us twice a week, sharing their learning and engaging with our children.

Beyond our kindergarten gate, we love exploring the local environment with our tamariki through walks and excursions. We value community and connectedness, and parents and whānau are encouraged to actively participate in our program, sharing their aspirations, knowledge, skills, language, and culture.

We recommend enrolling your child for at least two full days initially, gradually building up to five days at their own pace. This allows our teachers to develop a strong understanding of your child and provide consistent support for their learning journey.
