Kyle Park

The origins of Kyle Park can be traced back to the early 1970s, when the Paparua County Council purchased the land with the intention of developing it into a park for sports purposes. The council decided to honor Councillor Colin W A Kyle, who had served as the chair of the Council's Reserves and Recreation Committee for many years, by naming the park after him. In 1974, additional land was acquired, expanding the park's size and offerings.

Today, Kyle Park is managed by the Christchurch City Council and is primarily a recreation reserve. However, a portion of the park at the eastern end is held as a local purpose reserve for community buildings.
