BestStart Papakura East Kindy

Welcome to BestStart Papakura East Kindy, an inspiring and culturally diverse Early Learning center located in Auckland, New Zealand. At our center, tamariki (children) have the freedom and opportunities to create, explore, and investigate. We provide a large open space where tamariki can develop ideas, make friends, and establish an enthusiasm for learning. Our rich and safe environment inspires natural curiosity, encouraging our young children to explore and extend their learning as they discover their place in the world.

Situated on Winiata Terrace, a quiet cul-de-sac close to Red Hill in Papakura, our kindy is conveniently located near Ardmore, Hunua, and Papakura township. We cater to tamariki between the ages of 2 and 6 years and offer sessions that support 20 hours of early childhood education (ECE). Our free session kindy times are from 8 am to 12 pm and 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with extended day options available.

At BestStart Papakura East Kindy, our focus is on providing quality childcare and education for tamariki in the greater Papakura area. We pride ourselves on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that nurtures the tamariki and their whānau (families), making them feel respected and part of our learning community. We value our community and maintain strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, Papakura Marae, and local agencies.

Nutrition is important to us, and we provide tamariki with nutritious, healthy meals. Our menus are supported and approved by the Healthy Heart Foundation, ensuring that our tamariki receive the best possible nourishment.

Our learning programs promote authentic experiences that arise from each child's individual learning plan. We encourage tamariki to use their courage, curiosity, thinking, questioning, and self-competence to further develop and grow their own knowledge.

One of our unique initiatives is the Be School Ready program, which supports tamariki's love for learning, grows their confidence, and builds strong esteem for school and their next stage of learning. Through innovative activities catered to small groups and individuals, we prepare our tamariki for a successful transition to school.

We also engage our tamariki in exciting activities to extend their learning. For example, we conduct science experiments where tamariki witness the reaction of bubbly foam and fizzing noises. Our Matariki celebrations include fun activities, tamariki singing kapa haka songs, and delicious kai (food) for everyone to enjoy. We encourage tamariki to use their imaginations by hunting dragons and creating their own costumes.
