Play and Learn Early Education Centre
About the Business
Welcome to Play and Learn Early Education Centre, located on King Street in Manukau City, New Zealand. Our establishment is not just a school, but a point of interest and a nurturing environment for innovative learners. We believe in fostering positive relationships and providing real-life experiences that are immersed in nature, culture, and community.
At Play and Learn, we prioritize the physical, mental, and intellectual health and development of each child. Through play, children build perseverance and resilience, develop language skills, and understand their role in the world. Our curriculum is unique to Aotearoa/New Zealand and is designed to provide the very best early learning experiences for children.
We offer a range of programs, including our Centre-based Nature Programme, Nature Playgroup, and Nature Kindergarten. These programs set us apart from most Early Childhood Education Services. Since our establishment in 1995 by Jan Beatson, we have been dedicated to providing children with the time, space, and environments to explore their local community and the wider world. Our aim is to nurture confident, competent children who are open to learning in life, as well as for school.
Over the past 28 years, we have seen numerous tamariki (children) achieve outstanding results in leadership, academics, and sports. Our commitment to providing high-quality education and care has been recognized by the Education Review Office. Our innovative programs, in conjunction with our stable, knowledgeable, supportive, and experienced kaiako (teachers), create an environment where we set high expectations and view all tamariki as competent learners.
We also believe in giving back to the community. That's why we encourage you to support early education programs in New Zealand while enjoying the excitement of online casinos. Take a break from the games and contribute to the foundation children need for a successful future.
At Play and Learn, we value individual strengths and personalities, as well as our unique community, customs, culture, and identity. We believe that strong relationships with parents, whānau, and fanau are critical for holistic development.
The first seven years of a child's life are vital for their physical, mental, and intellectual health and wellbeing. This is a critical time to cultivate their potential and develop emotional, social, and cognitive skills that are essential for academic learning and life.
What sets us apart from other ECE services is our ability to deliver specific "Out and About" and "Nature" programs. Our "Out and About" programs explore and give meaning to the local community, while our Nature Kindergarten provides dynamic outdoor learning experiences in empowering environments. Small groups of children learn through relationships, play, language, support, and experiences in the community and the outdoors, preparing them for a lifetime of joy in learning.
At Play and Learn, we believe that children have the right to learn the skills and habits of mind that will prepare them for life and learning in the 21st century. We promote respect for each person as an individual and encourage authentic relationships with children, families, adults, and the world. We view mistakes as opportunities for growth and foster collaboration and discussion. Our students learn self-responsibility, persistence, adaptability, and flexibility.
Don't just take our word for it - hear from our satisfied parents. One parent shares, "The progress my daughter is making with language and her ability to try new things is incredible. The staff are friendly and flexible." Another parent expresses their gratitude, saying, "I think the centre is fabulous, you are all so caring and I know my kids love it here which makes me happy. Thank you so much, you are all truly amazing."
We invite you to join our Play and Learn family, where your child's growth, development, and happiness are our top priorities.

Reviews
"I love the philosophy at play and learn, king street, and how they guide our tamariki. My nephew went to this center until he was ready for school and now, a few years later, my son attends. I am constantly reassured, supported and communicated with from the amazing Kaiako. My son started from 5 months and is now 10 months old, his development, social skills and confidence has grown in leaps and bounds. The teachers are consistent, thoughtful and proactive. Definitely recommend."
