Welcome to Kedgley Intermediate School, located at 181 Portage Road in Papatoetoe, Auckland. As an establishment and point of interest, our school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and holistic learning environment for year 7 and 8 learners.
At Kedgley Intermediate, we value the unique character of the intermediate school experience, where students spend two years focusing on their educational journey. Our primary purpose is to ensure that all individuals involved with our school are embraced with a sense of kotahitanga, which means unity and togetherness. We believe in nurturing our learners holistically, supporting their growth and development in all aspects of their lives.
Our mantra, "Believe, Become, Inspire," sets the tone for our school community. We strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where every learner can reach their full potential. Through confidence, connection, and inquiring minds, we aim to nurture our students to become lifelong learners who can succeed in an evolving world.
We understand the importance of involving parents and caregivers in their child's education. We provide regular reporting to keep you informed about your child's progress and offer guidance on how you can support their learning at home. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for the success of our students.
Service is a core value at Kedgley Intermediate. We believe in the act of selflessness, where giving without expecting anything in return is the true essence of service. Our students are encouraged to sacrifice their time to help others, fostering a sense of empathy and compassion.
Resilience is another key attribute we strive to develop in our students. We believe that having the right attitude to recover quickly from difficulties and face challenges with determination is crucial for personal growth and success.
Our school hours are from 8:45 am to 3:00 pm from Monday to Thursday and from 8:45 am to 2:00 pm on Fridays. We follow the term dates set by the Ministry of Education, with Term 1 running from Thursday 2 February to Thursday 6 April, Term 2 from Monday 24 April to Friday 30 June, Term 3 from Monday 17 July to Friday 22 September, and Term 4 from Monday 9 October to Thursday 14 December.

"My 12 year old daughter has just started attending this school, she likes it and she's adjusting, the kids are friendly, they are also apart of the free lunch to kids initiative, I love the uniform which doesn't really look like one, the grounds are so clean and tidy."
"As an ex student, I didn't have the best teaching experience because the teachers didn't care about the students behaviour. Fast forward to now, I've had bad encounters with students vandalizing property, smoking, drinking all after school finishes in the local parks. The reputation is deteriorating because of the lack of student behaviour, the worst part is that it doesn't get properly addressed by the faculty. If you are in zone for other intermediate schools, take your children there."
"This school is alright but it would be way better if the students and the teachers were nicer. There have already been at least 5 transitions from Kedgley to my school Based Intermediate because of bad behaviour. P.S It's not even term 4 yet!"
"It's ok. It would be cool if the teachers were a bit more nicer but then again kids aren't that nice either. That 'No year 8s on the bottom field' rule is kinda dumb btw, I hope that does not exist anymore."
