About Collectively Kids
Welcome to Collectively Kids, an early childhood education center located at 28 Carrington Road, Pt. Chevalier, Auckland, New Zealand. Our center is dedicated to providing a nurturing and educational environment for children aged three months to five years.
At Collectively Kids, we prioritize the well-being and development of our community, which consists of approximately 50 families with 30 children attending each day. With a team of eight dedicated teachers and support staff, we ensure that each child receives individual attention and care.
When allocating spaces from our waitlist, we take into account the request date and availability of days. We understand the importance of planning ahead and strive to accommodate every family's needs. However, please note that we do not accept visits unless there is a certainty of offering a place. This policy is in place to prioritize the health and safety of our community.
Our owner and team leader, Marina, has been a part of Collectively Kids since 1993. With a BA, Montessori Diploma, Equivalence to Diploma of teaching, and a Master of Education, Marina has developed a place-based approach to environmental education. She is passionate about ensuring a sustainable future for children, promoting social justice, and embracing Te Tiriti o Waitangi-based practice.
Lisa, one of our experienced teachers, has been with Collectively Kids since February 2009. After a brief hiatus in early 2019, she has returned to continue her passion for early childhood education. Lisa's interests lie in the visual arts, leadership, and supporting children's transition into the school environment.
Soya, a dedicated teacher since 2010, joined Collectively Kids in April 2020. She has a strong focus on building relationships with children and their families. Soya has primarily worked with infants and toddlers and believes that acknowledging each child's uniqueness is crucial for effective learning.
Julia White, another valued member of our teaching team, joined Collectively Kids in 2020 as a relief teacher and later became a permanent teacher. With a Bachelor of Education (Teaching- ECE) degree, Julia is passionate about building relationships and connections with children and their families, as well as exploring the arts.
Vivien, who joined our team in March 2021, believes in the unique potential of each child. She is dedicated to building respectful and reciprocal relationships with children, families, and whānau to support their growth and development.
Talya, an enthusiastic member of our team, is committed to discovering and nurturing the passions and interests of young children. She is particularly interested in te reo Māori and building reciprocal relationships with whānau.
Cora, who has been teaching in ECE since 2009, values the capability and competence of children as learners. She strives to create an inclusive and meaningful learning environment through respectful practices and intentional teaching. Cora also emphasizes building reciprocal partnerships with parents and whānau.
George, with a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons.), believes that children should have the freedom and agency to explore and learn in a nurturing and responsive environment. They are passionate about creating an inclusive and enriching space and building meaningful relationships with children and their families.
Veronique, who has been a part of Collectively Kids for over eight years, recently transitioned to the role of an on-call reliever. This change allows her to spend more time with her family while continuing to support the tamariki, their whānau, and the teaching team at CK. In her spare time, Veronique enjoys outdoor activities, going to the gym, and reading.
Chris, a former teacher at CK (Montessori Khyber Pass) from 1997-2000, has a strong lifelong commitment to sustainability and children's social and emotional well-being. As a mother to three young adults who all attended Collectively Kids, Chris understands the importance of providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children.

"The most wonderful ECE/daycare I could have found for my little ones. I feel so so lucky and blessed to have found CK. They have helped shape my children in so many good ways. I will forever be grateful to the foundation they have helped lay."
