Allan and Kathryn Pollock, both pharmacists, have owned Belmont Pharmacy since 1989. Allan, who was once one of New Zealand's leading mid-field rugby backs, met Kathryn while attending Pharmacy School in Wellington. He played rugby for the Wellington NPC team alongside famous All Blacks players such as Stu Wilson, Bernie Fraser, Alan Hewson, and Murray Mexted.

Following Kathryn back home to Auckland, Allan continued his rugby career with North Harbour and even coached the team when they famously won the Ranfurly Shield against Canterbury in 2006. He has also had coaching stints in Japan with Toyota and NEC. Currently, he oversees grade coaching at the East Coast Bays Rugby Club.

The Pollock family resides close to Takapuna Beach, and they cherish living in such proximity to one of the best urban beaches in the world. "We are very lucky," says Allan.
