Mahurangi Kindergarten

Welcome to Mahurangi Kindergarten! Located in Warkworth, Albert Road, our establishment is not just an ordinary school, but a point of interest and a place where children can thrive and grow.

The name "Mahurangi" holds a special meaning for us. It is derived from the Maori phrase, 'Mahu hu ki te rangi," which translates to "The rock that points to the sky." While this phrase originally refers to a landmark in our area, we have adopted it as our inspiration. At Mahurangi Kindergarten, we aim to guide children towards reaching for the sky and achieving their full potential.

As an Enviroschool, we prioritize teaching our students to be kaitiaki, or caretakers, of their environment. We believe in instilling a sense of respect for nature and each other in our young learners. Through our curriculum, we encourage them to develop a deep appreciation for the world around them and to take responsibility for its preservation.

Our kindergarten has established strong connections with families and the local community, which is semi-rural in the town of Warkworth. We are conveniently located within walking distance of Warkworth Primary School, facilitating a smooth transition for our students as they move on to their next educational journey.

To provide you with more information, our 2023 calendar outlines our term dates. Term 3 runs from 17th July to 22nd September, while Term 4 spans from 9th October to 20th December.
