Arohanui Special School

Welcome to Arohanui Special School, located at 82 Tirimoana Road, Auckland, New Zealand. Our institution is dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of our community in the spirit of Aroha, which means love and compassion in Māori.

At Arohanui, we are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students aged 5-21 years in the West Auckland area. With 28 classes spread across 13 sites, we offer a range of specialized programs to cater to the unique learning needs of our students.

Our school includes satellite classes for primary and intermediate students, as well as secondary options and a transition center for students aged 18 and over. Additionally, our Outreach Service supports ORS funded students in mainstream schools, ensuring that all students have access to quality education.

Our dedicated and passionate staff are focused on helping our students reach their full potential. We believe in the importance of an understanding, inclusive, and responsive community, and we play a vital role in creating this community for our students and their families.

As part of our commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, we have partnered with Sport New Zealand in a joint initiative called Healthy Active Learning. Through this program, companies like Circability work with our students and staff to develop movement skills and promote physical well-being. Our school office is open from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Please note that we are closed on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and school term holidays. Public holidays such as Good Friday on March 29th, Easter Monday on April 1st, and Easter Tuesday on April 2nd are observed as well.
