Glen Eden Kindergarten

Welcome to Glen Eden Kindergarten, located on Clayburn Road in Auckland, New Zealand. At Glen Eden Kindergarten, we prioritize the well-being and development of our tamariki/children, considering them capable and competent learners with their own unique knowledge and experiences. We strive to ensure that all our tamariki are healthy in mind, body, and spirit, instilling in them a sense of belonging and the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society.

Our skilled teaching team consists of qualified and registered teachers, supported by dedicated staff. They are committed to and passionate about early childhood education, delivering quality learning programs based on the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whāriki.

We take pride in our cultural diversity, with our teaching team reflecting the vibrant mix of Māori, Samoan, Indian, and European backgrounds in our community. We create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, celebrating our diversity through cultural events and activities. We believe it is important for our tamariki to see themselves reflected in kindy life and feel proud of who they are.

Our expansive outdoor environment offers plenty of opportunities for active play, with a sandpit, playground, and even a few beloved pets. We also maintain a strong connection with our wider community through regular visits to the local library for story time sessions.

Promoting health and well-being is a priority for us, and we encourage healthy eating habits. We are proud to have received a healthy heart award, and our staff supports whānau in making healthy choices for their tamariki's lunchboxes.

Glen Eden Kindergarten is licensed for up to 40 children per day, enrolling tamariki from 2 years of age. We offer a morning session from 8.30am to 12.30pm to ease the transition to kindergarten. All children are eligible for 20 hours of free education and care with us every week.

We invite you to come and visit us, as we would love to show you around and discuss the opportunities we can offer you and your tamariki. Many families have trusted us with their children's education, and we have built strong relationships since our establishment in 2014. Our kindy is fantastic, with a range of outdoor activities complementing our welcoming and bright indoor spaces. The sandpit, swings, slide, and climbing equipment are always popular, and our well-maintained gardens provide opportunities for seasonal planting and harvesting produce. Our staff genuinely care about the children, ensuring their kindy days are special and memorable. As our time with the kindy comes to an end, we are grateful for how they have prepared our girls for their school days.

Our teachers have a deep understanding of each child and their family, seeking external guidance and input from parents to plan individualized programs and strategies. Our children are engaged, independent, and empowered to choose their play areas. They demonstrate respect for each other, their teachers, and adults.

Kindergarten hours are from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 2.30pm, while our office hours are from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.45pm. We are closed during term breaks and public holidays.
