"Khandala vets might be OK with dogs, cats and rabbits, but I would definitely not recommend them to anyone who needs treatment for birds, especially parrots. I took my 36 year old cockatoo there with a foot ulcer, because I learned that there was a vet with bird knowledge working there. It is hard to find an avian vet in Wellington, so I was pleased I've finally found one. Long story short, my bird also had a fatty tumour, which was not life threatening, so I wasn't too bothered about it. I just wanted that ulcer on his foot treated. What did they do? They decided they also needed to operate on that fatty, non life threatening tumour, and in the process killed him. He had a stroke. It was absolutely devastating. I feel so guilty for having taken him there. He was chirpy and happy on the way there, just like the clown he always was. On top of it, I had to pay the bill of $1595. Talk about a slap in the face. Anyway, I would say, be cautious when taking bird there for surgery. My beautiful boy, gone after 36 years,"
"My 7mo kitten got a cat bite on her flank and was treated here as my usual vet was closed on Sunday. Staff were very gentle and answered all our questions with heaps of information. Managed to get an appointment the same day I called and the bite healed up nicely with the meds provided. The vet helped put us at ease and for our kitties first vet visit due to a wound, it was as good as it could be."
"Great staff who clearly care about animals. Top notch vet care."
"We took our axolotl to get a bump checked on her head about a month ago. The vet drained what turned out to be an abscess and prescribed some antibiotics. They were awesome and got the job done! I only take off a star because the waiting area was very open, as the practice is quite small. Obviously the staff can't control that, but sitting there for almost two hours was a bit stressful. Would definitely recommend this place for axolotl treatment, as it's one of few in the region that takes them. Our little girl is all better now thanks to the lovely staff. :)"
"Katie, the Practice Manager mucked up my booking for the cattery. Told me she's not prepared to do anything about it other than charge me more for additional days. Katie said they only provide good service to their regular customers and as I was new I couldn't expect to be treated well! They cost double what other catteries charge and they are rude. If they treat people that way I'd hate to think what they are doing to the animals. Run very fast from this place...."
