Let us introduce you to our experienced veterinarians. Dr. Mark Simpson graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 1983. Since then, he has been an integral part of Auckland Vets, eventually becoming the sole owner until the practice joined the Veterinary Hospital Group in 2019. Dr. Simpson's passion for cycling extends beyond work, as he enjoys both road and mountain biking in his free time.
Joining our team in 2021, Dr. Mariam Youssef brings her expertise and passion for small animal care. After graduating from Massey University with a BVSc in 2020, she has developed a keen interest in Veterinary Dentistry. When she's not at the clinic, Mariam loves exploring the beautiful west coast beaches and taking care of her numerous plants.
Our nursing team is comprised of dedicated individuals who share a love for animals. Andrea, who joined Auckland Vets in 2004, holds a Certificate in Veterinary Nursing. Living with her husband and three boys, she also takes care of their independent Tortoiseshell cat, Rusty. Over the years, Andrea has fostered various animals, including kittens, dogs, a baby hedgehog, and several ducklings.
Caroline, who completed the NZCAT (VNA) at Unitec, has been a part of our team since 2018. With a passion for educating pet owners, she believes in empowering them to make informed choices for their animals' health, welfare, and well-being. Caroline enjoys beach walks with her daughter and resides on the edge of the Waitakere Ranges.
Briony, a Registered Veterinary Nurse, joined the Vet Hospital Group in 2020 after graduating with a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing in 2018. Growing up in a household with multiple dogs, her passion for caring for animals has been present since she was young. Briony currently has three dogs and enjoys long beach walks with them, as well as expressing her creativity through painting.
Andie, with 15 years of experience as a vet nurse, brings her expertise in canine behavior and mentoring to our team. She is passionate about supporting and upskilling our junior nurses. Alongside her rescue dog, Asher, Andie enjoys softball and motor sports with her partner.

"Dropped my cat off at the Cattery while on holiday - they took good care of him, giving him lots of care and attention."
"Convenient location on Great North Road, friendly staff, prompt service and parking on-site available and cleanliness and pleasant presentations in and out of the premises."
"Fantastic care given to my beloved dog. This animal hospital went above and beyond, staying open late, so my dog could be put to rest. They even lit the candle of compassion, and we were the last clients of the night. Cannot thank them enough. Thank you again."
"Like all vets at the moment they tell you what you want to hear our dog is still in pain when an x-ray would have been the way to go instead of pills not saying there a bad vet but for people who love there pets they use calming words and subtle manipulation to say what you want to hear while doing minimal work to help the pet."
"This morning at 10am I lost my 2yr old Staffy passed away due to complications. What was upsetting was I made contact with the Vet on Monday morning for assistance but was rejected. I also had ask the Vet if I could bring him for a check up, it had seem he had something stuck in his throat and was choking at times. I explained to them that my dog is a current patient with them and had other surgery done with them in the past. I was asking if they could help me and I will pay them by this Thursday when I get paid. I was declined so the result was I paid the ultimate price and lost my dog. I even reached out to the SPCA for assistance was declined. A word of advice for the Vet please help those who need it at times of desperation to save there love ones because my dog was family too."
