Busy Bees Apollo
About the Business
Welcome to Busy Bees Apollo, a premier establishment and point of interest in Auckland, located at 56 Apollo Drive, Rosedale. Our institution is a school that prioritizes creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for your child.
At Busy Bees Apollo, we embrace a Reggio Emilia-inspired philosophy, which encourages children to explore their interests, take charge of their own learning, and thrive in a supportive and safe environment. Our friendly and dedicated kaiako foster a sense of belonging, trust, and understanding, ensuring that every child feels valued and included. We promote positive language and encourage happy children, building strong relationships and emotional well-being.
We celebrate the diversity of our community and value the richness of different home languages. Busy Bees Apollo provides opportunities for children to learn and appreciate various languages, promoting cultural understanding and open-mindedness. We believe that learning should be fun and exciting. Through events, parent participation, and a positive atmosphere, we create a joyful environment where children feel confident and eager to explore.
One of our highlights is our purposefully designed Transition to School Programme, which equips children with the essential knowledge and skills they need for the next step in their education journey. Our daily programme includes a variety of experiences such as literacy, numeracy, and physical well-being. We also introduce a book bag for children to take home each day and have a special lunch box day on Fridays. All of these activities provide children with the best foundation for future learning.
We understand the demands of modern life, which is why our flexible hours accommodate busy schedules. We invite you to come and visit us today!
At Busy Bees Apollo, we also prioritize the health and well-being of our children. Our in-house cook provides freshly made meals each day, following our Nourish menus and recipes based on the New Zealand Heart Foundation Tohu Manawa Ora | Healthy Heart Award for Early Learning Centres. We believe that through nourishing food, children are fueled to thrive physically and mentally, while also enjoying the benefits of coming together and connecting as a group during mealtimes.
In addition to nutritious meals, our teachers regularly engage in baking activities with the children. These activities provide opportunities for children to learn a range of food preparation skills and fine motor movements. It is a great hands-on sensory experience for children to develop independence through self-help skills and practice simple math as they measure and count quantities.
Our institution features six classrooms specifically designed for different age groups, fostering Tuakana/teina relationships and engaged tamariki (children). Our kaiako create beautiful provocations with carefully selected materials to provoke curiosity, promote critical thinking, and encourage tamariki to express themselves through various art forms.
From the Fern room (Ages 0-1 Years) to the Kauri room (4-5 Years), each classroom is tailored to meet the developmental needs of the children in that age group. Our kaiako work closely with families to understand infant cues, develop routines that support children's natural rhythms, and nurture their emerging personalities.
We believe that the first five years of a child's life are incredibly significant and influential. Our institution is committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. We understand that outdoor play is an essential part of a child's development and education, and we encourage active exploration and engagement with nature.
Busy Bees Apollo is dedicated to providing the best educational experience for your child. Our institution is more than just a school; it is a place where children are valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. Come and join our Busy Bees family today!

"Had the worst experience here. Noticed some of the teachers were untrained and behaved harshly with some kids. Wouldn’t recommend at all. Also noticed most kids don’t interact with each other much and stay quite, probably due to over controlling environment."
"Both of my children attended Learning Tree over a seven year period and my second child has just left Learning Tree to go to school. Initially we attended Learning Tree at Saturn Place, and then when my eldest boy turned five we moved to Learning Tree Apollo as it was more convenient for my commute. Both centres were amazing. It was clear to me early on that they hold themselves to a very high standard (which was very noticeable when compared to some other centres we looked at before we chose Learning Tree). The staff were all amazing and I never had to worry about my children as I knew they were in safe hands. The pricing is competitive, especially considering they provide all food and nappies. My children had no trouble transitioning to school because Learning Tree prepared them so well for this. I would not hesitate to recommend Learning Tree as a great childcare centre."
"My son loved Learning Tree Apollo and all the friends he met there. I have been in awe on how easily he has taken to school this year and that is all down to the preparation that he got from his teachers at Learning Tree Apollo. The little things they do like organise swimming Lessons for the older children help so much when you are both working parents, the weekends are precious and Learning Tree Apollo help out and do what ever they can to make them that way."
"We have loved our almost 2 years at Apollo, All the staff are so lovely and friendly & do everything they can to make transitions to new rooms or even the everyday drop offs as easy as possible. Your child's learning journey is well documented, its very easy to talk with your child's teachers on anything related to your child and know you have been heard. We are sad to be leaving but needed to move our daughter so she had her final year of preschool with children who she will hopefully go to school with."
