City Medical Centre Pharmacy
About the Business
Welcome to City Medical Centre Pharmacy, located at 190 Lambton Quay, Wellington, New Zealand. As a trusted drugstore and health establishment, we strive to provide exceptional services and support to our valued customers.
At City Medical Centre Pharmacy, we understand the importance of your health and well-being. Our team of knowledgeable pharmacists are here to offer expert advice and treatment for common minor illnesses, catering to individuals of all ages. Whether you have a question about a specific medication or need guidance on managing your health, our pharmacists are dedicated to helping you make informed decisions.
Prescription accuracy is of utmost importance to us. Our pharmacists ensure that your prescriptions are dispensed correctly and that the medication and dosage are appropriate for your needs. We want to ensure that you receive the maximum benefits from your medicines, and our team will take the time to explain the purpose of your prescribed medications, proper usage, potential side effects, and storage guidelines.
Rest assured that all advice and treatment provided at City Medical Centre Pharmacy is conducted in a professional and confidential manner. Most of our services are offered free of charge and generally do not require an appointment, making it convenient for you to seek the assistance you need.
We also offer additional services to support your health journey. For safe disposal, we provide a free service to return any expired or unwanted medicines, as well as needles/lancets and syringes. We prioritize the well-being of our environment and community by ensuring proper disposal methods.
Our services extend to various age groups, including child/tamariki, youth/rangatahi, adults/pakeke, and older adults/kaumātua. We are here to cater to the diverse needs of our community.
Please note that we observe public holidays and will be closed on specific dates, including King's Birthday, Matariki, Labour Day, Wellington Anniversary, Waitangi Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, and ANZAC Day.
If you require emergency contraception (ECP), our trained pharmacists can assess your situation in a confidential manner. The ECP works best when taken as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse, but can be taken within 72 hours. Please note that there may be a charge associated with receiving the ECP.
We are committed to the well-being of children and offer free prescription filling for under-14 year olds, provided that the medication is fully funded. This service is available during normal working hours and after hours.
For individuals with long-term illnesses who require support with their medications, our assessment-based service is designed to address the factors that may affect medication adherence. Our pharmacists will work closely with you to manage your medications effectively, coordinating prescription repeats and offering a reminder service for timely collection.
Smoking cessation is a priority, and our trained pharmacists are here to provide advice and support aids, such as nicotine gum, to help you quit smoking.
We also offer access to specific medications without a prescription. Our trained pharmacists can supply antibiotics nitrofurantoin or trimethoprim for urinary tract infections to women between 16 and 65 years of age, who are not pregnant and do not have any other complicating factors. A consultation will be conducted to ensure the appropriateness of the medicine, and referral to a GP may be made if necessary.
If you require reports on your medicines or information on the cost of your medications, our pharmacy team is here to assist you.
For men aged 35-70 years experiencing erectile dysfunction, our specially trained pharmacists can prescribe sildenafil, subject to specific assessment criteria.
To simplify your medication management, we offer repackaging services using compliance packaging, such as blister packs or sachet rolls. These packs specify when to take your medications and can be supplied weekly or monthly, depending on your needs. Compliance packaging helps ensure you take your medicine at the correct time, making it easier to track your doses and avoid running out, especially when traveling.
At City Medical Centre Pharmacy, we prioritize accessibility and offer wheelchair access. Our team is dedicated to providing support and assistance to help you make informed decisions and move around comfortably.
