Marlborough Kindergarten
About the Business
Welcome to Marlborough Kindergarten, a place where children and their families can feel a sense of belonging and create lasting memories. Located in Auckland on Agincourt Street, our establishment is a point of interest and a school that offers a warm and safe environment for tamariki (children) to grow and learn.
At Marlborough Kindergarten, we prioritize the aspirations of whānau (family) for their tamariki and work together in partnership to support their child's development. Our multicultural and diverse community embraces and celebrates special cultural festivals, fostering an understanding and respect for all people.
Surrounded by the beauty of nature, our kindergarten is adjacent to a reserve with vast grassy areas, trees, and plants. We encourage our tamariki to become kaitiaki (guardians) of our environment, nurturing a love for nature and sustainability. As part of the Enviroschool program, we are actively working towards achieving our Green/Gold Status, teaching children the importance of rethinking, reducing, reusing, recycling, and composting.
Māori perspectives are woven into our everyday practices, fostering positive relationships with our whānau. Our tamariki have the opportunity to play in a beautiful carved wharenui (meeting house), representing our community. We learn and respect Te Ao Māori (the Māori world), including Māori spirituality, tikanga (protocols), te reo (language), stories, and waiata (songs).
Through play, we support children in developing essential skills such as literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, social and emotional skills, communication, self-regulation, and resilience. We encourage curiosity, creativity, and self-challenge, fostering a love for learning.
Preparing our tamariki for the transition to school is a priority at Marlborough Kindergarten. We have established strong connections with Marlborough Primary School, Willow Park School, Sunnybrae Normal School, and Windy Ridge School. Our older children visit Marlborough Primary School once a term to familiarize themselves with the school environment. As an active member of the Kaipātiki Kāhui Ako (Community of Learning), we ensure a smooth transition for our tamariki.
Our kindergarten operates from 8.30am to 2.30pm, following the school terms and holidays. We invite you to visit us and experience the welcoming atmosphere firsthand. Our friendly staff would love to show you around and answer any questions you may have.
At Marlborough Kindergarten, children approach adults with confidence, eager to share their achievements and engage in conversation. We believe in the rights of all children to access quality early childhood education and place high value on each child's language, culture, and identity.
Our office hours are from 8am to 4.45pm, Monday to Friday. Please note that we are closed during term breaks and public holidays. To stay updated on the happenings within our extended network, head over to our AKA blog.
Join us at Marlborough Kindergarten, where children have fun, enjoy their play, and are empowered to reach their full potential.

"Great environment for the kids, plenty of quality education and play. A nice balanced approach."
"love the kindy"
"My daughter loved it here. And you could tell the teachers really enjoyed their job and cared for the children. Make sure you get your child on the waiting list when they are two years of age so you get a spot for them for when they turn three :)"
