Takapuna Kindergarten

Welcome to Takapuna Kindergarten, located on Tennyson Avenue in Auckland, New Zealand. Our establishment is not just a point of interest, but a school dedicated to providing the best possible early childhood education in Takapuna. Our newly renovated building is complemented by a large outdoor garden where children can play and explore.

At Takapuna Kindergarten, we have a team of friendly and fully qualified staff who are committed to meeting the individual needs of each child. We work closely with parents and whanau to ensure that our programs align with their goals for their children. Our focus on goal setting and nurturing children to meet those goals is a key aspect of our approach.

One of our proudest achievements is our Silver Enviroschools status, which highlights our dedication to sustainable practices. We actively work with our community to build and maintain these practices, as they are important to us. Additionally, we follow the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whāriki, which guides our teaching and helps us create a learning environment that celebrates the diversity of New Zealand children.

What sets us apart from other childcare providers in Takapuna is our connection to the Auckland Kindergarten Association, an organization with a century-long tradition of educating Kiwi kids. We prioritize building relationships within the local community and collaborate with families to ensure that children learn both at kindergarten and at home. We place a significant emphasis on preparing older children for the transition to school, recognizing it as a major milestone in their lives.

Our dedicated teaching team consists of four early childhood qualified and registered teachers, a teacher support person, and an administrator. Together, they are passionate about providing an education that goes beyond what you'll find at a typical daycare provider in Takapuna. Our children are happy, engaged explorers and independent learners, with a sense of ownership over their kindergarten environment. Parents are always welcomed and encouraged to join in the play or observe in different play areas.
