Welcome to Whenuapai Kindergarten, located in Auckland, New Zealand. We are an establishment that is committed to providing a safe, loving, and fun environment for your child to learn and grow. As a point of interest, our institution values a connection to nature and boasts a natural outdoor space that encourages active movement and exploration.

At Whenuapai Kindergarten, we understand the importance of developing social competencies and independence in children. We have a strong focus on fostering kindness, both towards others and towards our natural world through sustainable practices. Our aim is to create a culture of kindness where children learn to speak and show kindness to others while also learning to take care of our environment.

One of the unique aspects of our institution is our close proximity to Whenuapai Primary School. This allows us to provide a strong transition to school program and opportunities for our children to visit the school. We believe in preparing children for the next phase of their education and ensuring a smooth transition.

We invite you to visit us at any time to see our facilities and meet our experienced team. Our team consists of four fully registered teachers, a part-time administrator, and an unqualified teacher aide and teaching assistant. We believe that a trusting, friendly, and happy working environment is crucial for children to feel happy and content. We are fortunate to have a very involved and friendly parent support group who welcome all new families. The sense of belonging and support that our kindergarten provides has been greatly appreciated by many families, as one parent shared, "My son has loved his time at Whenuapai Kindergarten. Our kindergarten's physical environment is well-resourced and organized with discrete areas of play, allowing children to make choices about how their play develops. Our teachers know the children and their families well, regularly sharing information about children with their whānau through conversations and in children's portfolios. We value open communication with parents and strive to create a supportive and inclusive community.

Whenuapai Kindergarten operates from Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 2:30pm. Our office hours are from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 4:45pm. We are closed during term breaks and public holidays. To stay updated with what's happening in our extended network, head over to our AKA blog.
