Bendigo South East College was formed in 2009 through the merger of Kangaroo Flat, Golden Square, and Flora Hill Colleges. This merger was part of the Bendigo Education Plan project, which aimed to provide a high-quality education to students in the region. Since its inception, BSE has earned a stellar reputation for its commitment to educational success and a caring approach towards its students.

One of the unique programs offered at BSE is the Athlete Development Program (ADP). This select-entry program focuses on specialized sports development and education, aimed at assisting students in their pursuit of sporting excellence. The ADP combines general physical preparation, such as strength and conditioning, with technical squad training and a comprehensive athlete development curriculum.

At BSE, we also house the prestigious Academy of Creative Arts (ACA). The ACA nurtures the creativity, artistry, and scholarship of our students, providing them with the tools and guidance to excel as performers, creators, makers, explorers, responders, and scholars. Immersed in the studies of music, dance, drama, and visual arts, ACA students are encouraged to achieve excellence and mastery in their chosen artistic fields.
