Welcome to Lee Point Beach, a captivating tourist attraction located in Lee Point, Australia. Situated within the Casuarina Coastal Reserve, this establishment offers kilometers of unspoilt beaches with breathtaking views of the stunning coastline.
Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and sweeping casuarina trees, Lee Point Beach is the perfect spot for a delightful picnic, a thrilling game of beach cricket, or simply to witness the mesmerizing Territory sun as it sets over the horizon at dusk. Depending on the time of year, you may also have the chance to observe wading and migratory birds or witness nesting turtles on the beach, adding to the natural beauty of this remarkable location.
As you explore the reserve, you'll come across heritage-listed ruins from World War II, scattered throughout the area. These remnants serve as a reminder of the historical significance of this site. Additionally, Lee Point Beach holds cultural importance as a significant site for the Larrakia people. At low tide, you can catch a glimpse of Darriba Nunggalinya, also known as Old Man Rock, an important landmark for the Larrakia people. It is essential to respect and preserve this cultural heritage by refraining from disturbing Old Man Rock or removing shellfish from the area.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit to the Casuarina Coastal Reserve, we recommend reviewing the Casuarina Coastal Reserve fact sheet and map, available for download on our website. You can access the reserve by foot or bicycle at Rapid Creek or from Lee Point, Buffalo Creek, and Trower Roads.
Please note that during the Wet Season, from October to May, box jellyfish are common in the water, making it unsafe for swimming. We advise against entering the water during this time. Although jellyfish are less common from June to September, it is important to remain cautious as serious stings have occurred during this period. In the event of a jellyfish sting, promptly flush the affected area with vinegar and seek medical assistance.
At Lee Point Beach, we also want to acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional owners of this land, the First Nations people. We recognize their enduring connections to their lands, waters, and communities, and honor the rich Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. We extend our gratitude to their past, present, and emerging leaders.
Discover the wonders of Lee Point Beach and immerse yourself in the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Casuarina Coastal Reserve. Plan your visit today and create unforgettable memories in this enchanting Australian destination.

Reviews
"Nice beach! Not too crowded, overall nice and safe area. Recommend to take a picnic or stroll along the beach Absolutely incredible sunset."
"Beautiful spot for photography. Has a section for your dogs to explore and a part that doesn't allow dogs. Usually always parking available and lots of rockpools to explore when low tide"
"Beautiful beach; great sunset, a quieter sunset spot (compared to other Darwin beaches). We visit for walks at sunrise and sunset all year round. There is lots of explore and the beach looks different everyday; based on the time of year and the tide. Great spot for the whole family. Good place for walking dogs (however you only walk them in one direction, due to nesting birds - check signs)."
