We also want to acknowledge the rich history and culture of the Tasmanian Aboriginal community. We pay our respects to the elders, both past and present, as well as to the many Aboriginal people who did not achieve elder status. We recognize the impacts of invasion and colonization upon Aboriginal people, including genocide and forcible removal from their lands. Our islands are blessed with unique landscapes, surrounded by breathtaking bushland, wilderness, mountain ranges, and beaches. We stand for a future that deeply respects and acknowledges Aboriginal perspectives, culture, language, and history. We are committed to fighting for Aboriginal justice and rights, paving the way for a strong and inclusive future.
